Hotel Location
Day 1: Arrival
Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival at Reykjavik/Keflavik Airport, make your way outside of the arrival hall and look for the coaches marked “Flybus.” You have a Flybus Plus ticket, so upon presenting your voucher, you will be redirected to a smaller shuttle that will take you to your Reykjavik hotel and home for the next 4 nights – the Icelandair Reykjavik Hotel Natura. The remainder of your day is at leisure to enjoy the city!
Day 2: Northern Lights Hunt
After breakfast, you will have the day at leisure. That evening you will join an exciting Northern Lights hunt. The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular natural phenomenon, often seen dancing around in fantastic colors across the Icelandic Arctic sky. The interaction of particles from the sun, with the upper atmosphere near the North Pole, creates this wonderful light effect. This tour is 3 hours long, and departs at either 9:00 or 10:00 pm (you will be picked up from your hotel, and the exact time will be confirmed).
Day 3: Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa Evening Tour
By now you’ve noticed that in the city's museums, galleries, theatres, cafés and swimming pools, busy locals bustle about with a seemingly inexhaustible energy. Spend the early part of the day experiencing this scene as you continue to get to know the city.
Enjoy a peaceful evening at the Blue Lagoon, an incredible geothermal spa set in an otherworldly area, where lava and thermal water meet and complement each other. The Blue Lagoon's warm water and natural active ingredients; mineral salts, silica and blue green algae help you relax and unwind while the Blue Lagoon white silica mud gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin. After having enjoyed all the amenities of the Blue Lagoon, your coach will take you back to Reykjavik. (Please note: don’t forget to bring your bathing suit and towel).
Day 4: Free day at your leisure
Enjoy a final, full free day at leisure. Although the city of Reykjavík is a metropolis in every sense, it's been carefully developed and crafted around a number of easily accessible recreational areas and country parks. With an extensive network of well-maintained footpaths and cycling routes winding through the city’s numerous parks and nature reserves, you won’t have to travel far to take a quick break from city life and explore nature.
If you have an interest in arts and culture, the city has a lot to offer in the way of prestigious cultural institutions, and has become well-known for its extensive music and performing arts scene. Designated a UNESCO City of Literature, it is also home to a wealth of talented poets and authors.
Shoppers will find the largest concentration of brand-name stores, unique shops and quality art studios in the downtown area – whether you’re searching for souvenirs or unique gifts from one of the many talented local designers. The famous shopping streets of Laugarvegur and Skólavördustígur are home to beautiful boutiques and charming shops, while Kringlan provides more of a mall experience, with over 150 stores and restaurants under one roof.
Please note: At some point today, please ask the hotel staff for assistance with confirming your Flybus Plus transfer to the airport tomorrow.
Day 5: Departure
If your flight is in the afternoon, use your last moments to walk along the harbor seafront and breathe the fresh Atlantic breeze. Based on your pre-arranged time, you will be met by Flybus at your hotel, and transferred to the airport for your flight home.
