After landing in Dublin and collecting your car you will head northwest to County Cavan where you will spend your first night at the beautiful Cabra Castle Hotel. While in Cavan you will learn why the Irish refer to it as Lakeland Country as you find yourself in a landscape dotted with shimmering lakes and gently rolling hills. Be sure to check out the ruins of the original Cabra Castle or the Drumlane Monastery, home of the last remaining round tower in the Dicoese of Kilmore.
On day two you will head to Donegal and lovely 5-star elegance of the Lough Eske Castle, located on a secluded lakeside estate just outside Donegal Town. This amazing property has a rich history dating back to the 1400s being associated with the O'Donnell Clan, the founding fathers of Donegal, a county in the north-west region of Ireland. For the next two days and nights you can explore the area visiting such sites as The Seven Wonders of the West, seven sites of natural beauty that have been designated as such by the Western Development Commission including Glenveagh National Park in Donegal.
On day four you will make your way County Cong and the 4-star Lisloughrey Lodge located near the Mayo/Galway border. For 2 days and nights you can take a trip to nearby Galway or explore some of the more local sites such as the Quiet Man Cottage Museum, the Cong Abbey and Monastery and the Knock Shrine. Of for the more adventurous there is opportunities for horse-back riding or a falconry class!
