A Ski Experience in South Tyrol!

This 7, 8, or 9-night self-drive vacation package takes you from Como to the South Tyrol/Ortisei area. Ortisei is the main village in the Val Gardena, a chain of mountains in the Dolomites. Spend a handful of nights here and experience a private ski safari, wine tasting, traditional dinner in a wooden hut, and more! Drive to Milan for one final night in the city center before heading home! Your package also includes daily breakfast as well as nightly dinner in Ortisei.

Package Overview

Let this vacation whisk you away to a ski lover's paradise! Begin with a flight to Milan, where you'll pick up your rental car and drive to Como. Spend one night here with picturesque views of the famous lake, and perhaps pay a visit to Villa Olmo. The next morning, you'll set out for South Tyrol.

The drive from Como to South Tyrol/Ortisei will take approximately 5 hours. Consider a stop along the way in Brescia or  Rovereto where you can enjoy a bite to eat and some shopping! Arrive in Ortisei, check in to your hotel, and rest up for the next few days of adventure!

Your time in South Tyrol will be spent as you please. Included here are three tours: A traditional hut dinner, a wine tasting experience, and a ski safari with a private instructor! You'll be able to combine relaxation with activity here rather easily. 

Your final stop is Milan! Make time to visit the spectacular Duomo di Milano and squeeze in one last authentic Italian meal! Spend one night here before returning your rental car and flying home!

Day 1. Welcome to Italy!

Upon arrival, pick up your rental car at the airport and proceed to your hotel. The drive will take approximately one hour. Check in, freshen up, and find a local restaurant for dinner!

Brescia and Rovereto are both tiny towns with great food and shopping! Arrive in Ortisei and check into your hotel. Daily dinner is included with your stay at Hotel Hell.

Today, we recommend getting acquainted with the area! Drive around, peruse restaurant menus, explore some of the museums, like Museum Gherdëina, and more. Dinner is included with your stay.

Day 4. South Tyrol

After breakfast, you'll drive up to the meeting point for your wine tour experience! Don't forget that dinner is included tonight!

Wine Tasting at Sofie Hut

Enjoy spectacular views of the Dolomites as you ascend up to a hut on one of the slopes where a guided wine tasting awaits you! Taste five different wines and snacks and soak up the beautiful scenery. The hut is accessible by skis or lift directly from Ortisei.

Day 5. South Tyrol

Fuel up with a healthy breakfast because you're in for a treat today! You'll experience a ski safari with a private instructor! No matter what skill level you're at, your instructor will find the best slopes for you.

A Tip For Your Trip: Ski rentals are not included, however you will receive a 10% discount off rentals at a partner's shop.

Ski Safari with Private Ski Instructor

This full-day tour will be led by a private instructor who will guide you through the extensive ski resort. As there are many different tour options, the instructor will recommend the best ski tour to suit your needs. You'll have the opportunity to experience the best ski slopes, views, and highlights of this area!

Day 6. South Tyrol

Today, we recommend a day trip to Bolzano! Set amidst vineyards and hills, take a cable car ride to discover the beautiful views of the area. Explore the city's celebrated main square, and perhaps pay a visit to one of the castles in the area! Just be sure to plan accordingly, as your traditional wooden hut dinner is tonight!

Dinner in a Hut

Enjoy a traditional dining experience in a wooden hut! You'll drive to the meeting point where you'll then be transported to the hut via snowcat (included) or by a horse sled ride (not included). The wooden hut provides a cozy atmosphere for you to relax, unwind, and savor your meal.

Day 7. South Tyrol - Milan

After breakfast, begin the drive to Milan! This will take approximately 4 hours. Consider a stop in Trento or Brescia along the way! Check into your hotel and explore this beautiful city as you soak up your final night in Italy.
