Galway offers so much for travellers to see and do in November. Take a nightime run to raise money for charity or even take the family to meet Santa and his elves! Here are 10 events to help you plan out your trip.
1. Elf Town
November 29-December 23, visit Santa and his elves in Elf Town! You’ll get an Elf Town passport and Santa hat. This 90-minute interactive tour takes place over four themed floors with activities along the way. Kids can get face paintings and decorate Christmas cookies. Sip on complimentary mulled wine or fruit punch. This event sells out faster and faster each year, so get tickets in advance.

2. Irish Fly Fair
November 9-10, fishers from all over will gather for this Fly Fair. At the Galway Bay Hotel, you’ll find vendors selling fly tying supplies, clothing, flies, and crafts.
3. Ireland Salsa Bachata Marathon
November 2-3, dance to Salsa and Bachata music! The marathon takes place at Nimmo’s Pier, overlooking the River Corrib.
4. Hand in Hand Christmas Fair
Bring the kids to meet Santa on November 24! The event has a suggested donation of a little over $2 to enjoy the shopping and meet Santa. This event raises money for the non-profit organization Hand in Hand - Children’s Cancer Charity.
5. Second Sundays at the Salt House
November 10, meet for a 5k, 8k, or 10k run at The Salt House. Runners can go at their own pace. After your run, you can socialize with other Irish folk and have a half pint of beer at the Galway Bay Brewery.

6. StageSchool Three Musicals
Come see three musicals at StageSchool Ireland’s charity Christmas event on November 30! StageSchool Ireland is one of Ireland’s best theatre schools. Entry is $11, with all proceeds going to charity.
7. Wedding Show
Check out this bridal show at the Claregalway Hotel. November 3, industry specialists can provide tips for your big day. Don’t miss the bridal couture fashion show!
8. Story Party - True Dating Stories
Come to this popular story event! You’ll hear true tales of horrible first dates and dating fails. The audience is invited to participate too! You’re guaranteed lots of laughs at this Story Party on November 13.
9. Drawing and Meditation Practice
Choose from one of Awaken/Calm/Journey classes November 8, 15, and 22. You’ll practice guided meditation and drawing to encourage self-exploration. These classes fill up quickly, so book in advance.
10. Run in the Dark Galway
November 13, run a 5k or 10k in the dark! Galway is just one of 50 cities worldwide to run. Funds from the race go to a trust which works to find a cure for paralysis. The race winds through the coastline of Galway - all runners will want to join this race.
