The spring and summer months bring a variety of music festivals to the Calgary area. Plan a trip to catch a few (or multiple!) trips to experience them all!
June: Calgary Reggae Festival
Calgary’s ReggaeFest 2019 kicks off June 6th and runs through June 8th in Shaw Millennium Park. After a hiatus in 2018, the festival is back this year for its 15th edition under a new name: Riddim West. Smaller events will be held the first two days with the festival culminating in Riddim West on Saturday. The event will bring the best of local, national, and international artists together to celebrate reggae music. The festival is run by the Calgary Reggae Festival Society, dedicated to the promotion of awareness of Reggae music across Canada.

June: Sled Island Music Festival
The Sled Island Music Festival began in 2007 and combines music, film, comedy, and art. The festival’s eclectic mix of genres and styles makes it an annual highlight. Each year, a Guest Curator is welcomed to put their signature stamp on the festival. The Guest Curator makes a handful of special programming selections, joining the over 250 additional bands, comedy, films, and art. This year, the festival will be held June 19th-23rd and will span more than 30 venues across the city.
