1. Ross Castle
Built in the 15th century, the beautiful Ross Castle is perched on the edge of Killarney’s lower lake. Only open from the summer months through November, the castle is a great historical landmark to learn more about Irish tradition. Fun fact: Ross Castle is apparently one of the most haunted places in Ireland, making it even more of a mystical place to explore!

2. Mondraker Grassroots Enduro Series
On Sept 1, the Mondraker Grassroots Enduro Series comes to Killarney in the fourth round of the biking extravaganza. The event encourages riders of all ages and skill levels to come race through Irish parks around the country. You can bike for yourself, or see the bikers cross the finish line after a long journey!
3. Kerry Way Ultra
If you happen to be a seriously avid runner, this is the event to test your endurance. The Kerry Way Ultra tests runners to push their limits as they try to run two days and one night straight through the beautiful Kerry Way Path. You can run past iconic Irish scenery in this extreme race, giving you a completely unique perspective on the countryside on Sept. 6-7.
4. Listowel Races Harvest Festival
From Sept. 8-14, join in on the traditional horse-racing fun at the Listowel Races Harvest Festival. Throughout the days, you can watch horses race for the grand prize while dress in some of your fanciest apparel, and enjoy the various other themed events that take place. This race has been happening for decades, and derby lovers far and wide flock to the event each year.

5. Sean Keane & 40 Piece Orchestra
On Sept. 14, you can hear the musical magic of Sean Keane and his 40 piece orchestra. As a well-known Irish musician, Keane has created many musical numbers that will dazzle audiences. With the 40-piece orchestra performing alongside him, Keane will sing in his distinctive style all night long.

6. Cromane SeaFest
Cromane is a maritime town in Ireland, known for its preservation of Irish coastal heritage and great local seafoods. In the first ever Seafest, Cromane is inviting visitors to celebrate these traditions through guest chef plates, oyster shucking competitions and more. Besides the seaside fun, you can enjoy water sports, live musical performances and craft fair stalls throughout the festival on Sept. 14-15.

7. Riverdance Tour
The iconic Riverdance Tour returns to Killarney from Sept. 18-22, giving you a chance to see a spectacular show filled with traditional Irish music and dance. A great way to experience old-fashioned Irish music, as well as enjoy an incredible show, the Riverdance Tour is an event that can’t be missed!

8. Small Roads Theatre Festival
