Dubai is a city buzzing with life and wonder for traevlers to explore. While there are many extravagant events held year-round, September in particular has a few gems that will allow you to discover the city’s true charm. Here are 9 incredible ways to explore Dubai this September!
1. La Perle by Dragone
All month long, enjoy a performance that is truly like no other at La Perle by Dragone. The show, inspired by Dubai’s past and promising future, combines astounding state-of-the-art visuals with artistic acrobatics to stun audiences. As if that weren’t enough, the crew performs a variety of water and aerial tricks on a colorful, 270-degree stage, literally wrapping you up in the experience!

2. Puccini’s Turandot Opera
Located in the heart of the Dubai Opera District, the iconic Dubai Opera House acts as beacon for some fantastic performances. This September 6-8, you can check out Puccini’s Turandot, a three-act show that follows the journey of Prince Calaf, who must solve three riddles in order to marry Princess Turandot: if he answers any of them wrong, the emperor will have him killed. The show is set in China, but has many of the classic Italian operatic elements weaved into it, making for one great production.

3. Dubai Sports World
Dubai Sports World is a massive, air-conditioned complex that becomes an epicenter for all things sports throughout the summer months until September 10. This event is open to all levels of athletes: you can choose to join a team with your travel companions, rent an entire court for yourself, or participate in a variety of workshops. Come enjoy your favorite sport, find a new passion or simply escape the heat, in the 25,000 square mile complex.

4. The Laughter Factory
If you’re in for a chuckle, head to The Laughter Factory, a comedy club that is sure to entertain you and your fellow travelers. Each performance, accompanied by food and drink services, is held by a professional comedian who is just waiting to try out their newest routines. Check out the club on September 12, 13 and 18-20.

5. The Jameel Prize & Exhibition
The Jameel Prize is offered every other year, awarded to the best piece based in contemporary art based on traditional Islamic culture. Visitors are welcomed to see not only the prize-winning piece, but other competitors as well in a five-gallery exhibit at the Jamal Arts Center until September 14.

6. Beach Rugby Dubai

7. Xposure International Photography & Film Festival 2019
Expand your knowledge of photography and film while taking a peek at some of the industry’s newest talents at the Xposure Festival. Started in 2016, the festival hosts artists from across the world, allowing them to mingle with one another and visitors with fantastic art pieces as the backdrop. The event goes from September 19-22, so don’t miss your shot to attend!

8. Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge Build-Up Ride
On September 20, get your cycle on in the first of a four-race series called Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge. This 35 km (about 21 miles) race is meant to test your endurance for the grand final race: a challenging 92 km (57-mile) excursion. Biker or not, the race’s end calls for celebration, including fun activities and a particularly delicious breakfast spread.

9. Saudi National Day
