Paris is a stunning place to visit any time of the year, especially December. You can see the famous Nutcracker Ballet at the historic Kyiv Opera Ballet Theatre, then stop in the Musée d'Orsay to see rare Picasso paintings. For a casual afternoon stroll, swing by the Creations and Savoir Faire craft show. There are so many options to make your Paris holiday special this December.
1. Picasso: Blue and Rose
You’ll get to see some of Picasso’s lesser-known works of art at this Musée d'Orsay exhibit. Drawings and paintings in the colors blue and rose show a side of Picasso that is often overlooked. Don’t miss this exhibit, running through December.

2. Creations and Savoir Faire
This annual arts and crafts show is great for discovering local paintings, sculptures, and ceramics. From November 27-December 1, experience Paris’s art scene at the Expo Porte de Versailles.
3. Nautic Paris International Boat Show
December 7-15, experience the Nautic Paris International Boat Show. This show features awesome water sports, more than 800 exhibitors, and visitors from all over the globe. Watch water sports, or shop for fishing gear, water accessories, and more.
4. The Nutcracker at the Kyiv Opera Ballet Theatre
The Nutcracker ballet will be returning to this theatre for the first time since 1964. December 23-January 6, this family-friendly ballet will dazzle those of all ages.
5. Christmas Village on La Défense esplanade
One holiday location that should be high on your to-do list is La Défense esplanade. It’s a huge Christmas village which runs through December. There are over 300 vendors selling crafts and fresh food.

6. Christmas Market at Champ de Mars
Here’s one for your bucket list - go ice skating underneath the Eiffel Tower! You can do that and much more at the Champ de Mars Christmas Market. Shop through crafts and find the perfect presents through December.
7. New Year’s Eve at the Champs-Élysées
Celebrate the new year at the Arc de Triomphe! Gather at 11 PM with Parisians and visitors from around the world. There will be a firework show, and 3D images projected onto the Arc de Triomphe.
8. Lumiere Noire
If you’re looking for an inexpensive night out, check out Lumiere Noire, or Black Light, a small techno concert night. Six bands will be performing December 13.

9. Festival of Lights at Jardin des Plantes
Open all December, witness a festival of lights unlike any other. You can walk through the meandering pathways and discover the colorfully lit animals. From 6PM-11PM each night, experience this huge park in an amazing night setting.

10. Mozart, Satie and Beethoven at the Saint-Ephrem Church
Gather for this rendition of Mozart, Satie, and Beethoven at Paris’s famous Saint-Ephrem Church. The church was constructed in 1733, and is known for its beautiful acoustics.
