Calling all foodies - Gastrofestival is an absolute must! The festival, which runs through February 10, is known for its tortilla skewers, squid sandwiches, and fresh stew. Gastrofestival encourages people to eat in “non-gastronomic” spaces like bookstores, clothing stores, museums, and more. Over 450 establishments join in the food festivities every year!

2. International Gift and Decoration
This gift fair has everything you could ever need for gift-giving and decorating! Vendors will be selling carpets, flower arrangements, crafts, and custom bags. Stop by from February 5-9.
3. International Contemporary Art Fair
Immerse yourself in contemporary art at IFEMA! Head to the famous venue to discover paintings, photographs, sculptures, and much more. The show lasts from February 26-March 1.
4. Manteo del Pelele
February 23, gather round to watch an old Madrid carnival tradition! The tradition begins with pipe music. Then a dummy dressed in clothes is tossed into the air in a blanket, while the crowds sing funny songs.

5. Festival of the Vaquilla
February 2, take part in the driving of the cattle! Come to this colorful festival where locals create fake cattle (or “vaquillas”). At the town square, parade participants make their calves dance. The parade ends with three shots fired into the air, then limonada is handed out to participants to toast to the vaquillas.

6. Madrid Carnival
February 21- 26, dress up for this awesome festival. There will be masquerade dance competitions, carnival music groups, and much more. The whole city participates in this six-day long feast and festival, loved by both children and adults.

7. Visit Mercado San Miguel
Through February, stop into one of the most famous markets in Spain - Mercado San Miguel. You can buy authentic local food like ham, shellfish, and cheese. The market is a surefire way to find brag-worthy cuisine.

9. Museo Nacional del Prado’s 200th Anniversary
Through February, don’t miss the spectacular exhibits celebrating 200 years of art! See hundreds of drawings by Goya through February 16. Through February 2, delve into the notebooks of 17th-century artists. Or check out their majesties sitting room for a glimpse into luxury through February.
