Whether you want to drive along the scenic roads of Tuscany or enjoy oceanside cruises along the Amalfi Coast, there is no shortage of breathtaking landscapes in Italy.

If you're planning a trip to Italy and are thinking about taking some leisurely drives, we've got you covered with some of the best scenic drives in Italy.

Tuscany

The Tuscany Val D'Orcia stretches between the Orcia River south of Siena and the border of Grosseto. It's a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site in Italy with endless views over the Tuscan landscape.

While driving through Val D'Orcia, you'll catch glimpses of the iconic cypress tree-lined roads and rolling hills with beautiful single farmhouses spread throughout. Pull over at Cappella Madonna di Vitaleta, one of the most famous spots to photograph in Val d'Orcia. The picturesque scenery surrounding it won't disappoint.

Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 and is one of the most beautiful destinations in Italy. Drive along the coast and take in sights like the Tyrrhenian Sea with tiny white boats lined up at the harbors. The pastel pinks and yellows of the houses up on the gorgeous green cliffs are stunning and offer a gorgeous backdrop for photos.

Venice

One of the most scenic drives in Italy is from Venice through the Veneto region along the banks of Lake Garda. Here you'll see all the beautiful pastel villas that provide a beautiful backdrop to the sparkling blue waters of the lake and the mountains that surround it. This ride will take you through one of the most dazzling routes in Italy filled with shoreline cliffs and incredible views.

Positano

When you're driving along the Amalfi Coast, you'll be passing through this charming top city in Italy to visit. Roll down the car windows and let the wind ruffle your hair. Make sure you have your phone ready to snap some photos of the pebble beach fronts and the vibrant colored houses that line the mountains. Feel free to pull over in this historic town and explore the local quaint boutiques and cafes.

Florence

Ah, Florence, the capital of Italy's Tuscany region. The Chiantigiana Road winds south from Florence to Siena and is a wonderful day trip from Florence. Considered to be one of the most scenic drives in Italy, you can enjoy the tranquility while driving along endless vineyards, ancient castles, and adorably restored farmhouses sprinkled around the countryside. Since this area is filled with vineyards, you might want to pull over and taste some of the authentic Italian wines made in this region.

Rome

Drive the "Queen of Roads", aka Appian Way. This road stretches 400 miles to Brindisi, and the first ten miles are preserved as a regional park. Along the way, you can spot some ruins of Roman monuments, two catacombs, and a church that marks the spot where Peter had a vision of Jesus. Appian Way is a gateway into Rome's ancient lifeline and one of the best ways to spend a sunny day in Rome!

Book a trip to Italy and get ready to experience some of the most scenic drives in the world.
