1. Kaapse Klopse
January 2, wander the streets of Cape Town as a minstrel festival overtakes the town! Thousands of people dress in brightly-colored clothes, then sing and dance in the streets. This popular festival is an essential part of Cape Town’s culture, so make sure to join in the festivities!

2. Cape Town Jazzathon
Snap along to this jazzy festival on the V&A waterfront. This free concert series from January 9-12 features a diverse group of artists. Local South African musicians will be performing contemporary jazz throughout the event.
3. Cape Town 10s
Sports! Beer! Music! You can find it all at Cape Town 10s. Thousands of people gather to play their favorite sports each year. Stop into Africa’s largest beer tent to grab a cold local beer in between games! The event takes place from January 31-February 2.
4. L’Ormarins Queen Plate Racing Festival
This festival races into Cape Town from January 10-11! There will be 18 races over the two-day event. Check out antique car displays or cheer on the competition. There will be food and wine, and the more elegantly you dress, the better!
5. Milnerton Holistic Festival
January 18, take a visit to the Milnerton Holistic Festival, which promotes mindful living and healing body therapies. You can take workshops such as yoga, qi gong, and self-growth. Visitors can purchase health and wellness products as well.

6. Festival of Rebels
Rev your engines, because from January 25-26 you can attend the motorcycle festival! The first annual festival will feature motorbikes, accessories, apparel, and more.
7. Green & Vegan Pop Up Dining
January 18, try incredible vegan food at the Green & Vegan Pop Up experience! You’ll be offered a welcome drink when you arrive, and then throughout the night, devour sumptuous vegan dishes. After a starter and amuse-bouche, you’ll tuck into the main meal. Finish the night with a “cheeze” platter and a trio of vegan desserts!
8. Pop Bottles New Year's Day
If you didn’t party enough on New Year’s Eve, head to Shimmy Beach Club on January 1. This beach club is an institution of South African party life! South Africa’s best DJs and musicians will be performing throughout the party.
9. Secrets of Summer New Year's Eve Music Festival
December 31-January 1, come to this amazing music festival that goes until 4 AM! Musicians will be performing on four themed stages and dance floors. You can check out the arena’s man-made beach oasis, complete with sand, splash pools, and geodesic domes. This party is the place to be to start your New Year off right!
10. Food Truck Market
If you’re searching for fresh, authentic local cuisine, look to the Food Truck Market! January 31, scores of food trucks will gather at Fort Wynyard. The trucks will gather from 3 PM - 11 PM - perfect for trying new foods for dinner.
