Old Man of Storr
Ah, yes, The Storr. This iconic site is, undoubtedly, Skye's most popular and most photographed point. Not only is this geological formation fascinating and a great hiking spot, it's also steeped in folklore! The legend changes, depending on who you ask. Some say the formation is an old man who was turned to stone, others say it's the thumb of a giant whose body remains beneath the soil. Hike up and decide for yourself!
The Red and Black Cuillin Mountains
Separated by Glen Sligachan, these stunning mountain ranges dominate Skye's landscape. No matter where you are on the isle, The Red and Black Cuillins will almost always be in sight. These mountains make Skye a hiking mecca for adventurers, but keep in mind, hiking up the Cuillins is tough - even for experienced hikers.
Kilt Rock
Between the villages of Portree and Staffin, you'll find Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls. Why is it called Kilt Rock? Well, just look at it! (Okay, maybe it doesn't really look too much like a kilt, but use your imagination). Be sure to stop here for amazing cliff views and photo-ops.
Fairy Pools
One word: magic. Another site of fairytale and folklore, this is one of those sites that will make you stop and say wow. After a fairly easy 20-minute hike, you'll come across multiple waterfalls, which create breathtaking pools of vibrant blue and green water! With the impressive Cuillins standing in the background, the scenery is pure beauty.
Neist Point
This spectacular spot is nestled on the most westerly tip of Skye, near Glendale. Walk this wonderful path and take in the beautiful cliffside coast around you. While the lighthouse is lovely to look at (and take photos of), it is not open to the public.
Portree
Sure, Portree is the largest town on Skye, but it only has a population of about 4,000! It's home to the only secondary school on Skye, Portree High School, which can be as much as a two-hour commute for students, each way, depending where on the Isle they live. This colorful fishing village is sprinkled with lively pubs, delicious seafood restaurants, and quaint shops, and B&Bs. If you're headed to Skye, it's the perfect place to stay.
Quiraing
Get ready to feel on top of the world! This landslip is the northernmost summit of the Trotternish on the Isle of Skye. Frolic around bask in the glory of the greenery that surrounds you. We promise, you'll feel like you're on another planet.

Highland Hairy Cattle
These cows, or "coos," as Scots call them, are found all over the Isle of Skye. Along with sheep, goats, and lambs, these friendly fluffs are Skye's cutest residents!
