1. Vörösmarty Square
One of the best annual Christmas Markets in Hungary is Vörösmarty Square. Stalls sell pottery, jewelry, and of course, seasonal food! Through December, you can taste some of Budapest’s best food like stuffed cabbage, strudel, hot wine, and roasted meats.

2. Christmas Gala Concert at Danube Palace
If you’re in Budapest on December 25, celebrate Christmas at Danube Palace! This elegant concert features a symphonic orchestra, Hungarian folk songs, and ballet performances.

3. New Year's Eve Party Cruise
Celebrate the start of the new year with a five-course meal and an open bar! There will be a raffle and a champagne toast at midnight. The ship returns to shore at 1 AM, but you can party on the dance floor until dawn.

4. Budapest Poker Open
November 27-December 1, check out the Budapest Poker Open! Head to the EuroCenter Póker for this fun competition. Betting ranges from small amounts to thousands of dollars, and game types vary from day to day.

5. Budapest Christmas Markets Tour
December 1-30, treat yourself to an amazing tour of Budapest’s Christmas Markets! An experienced local guide will lead you through the sights of Opera House, Andrassy Blvd, and St. Stephen’s Basilica.

6. New Year’s Eve Pub Crawl

7. Classical Concert
December 30, listen to the sweet sounds of Mozart, Bach, Händel, and other talented composers. This lovely annual concert takes place in St. Michael’s Church, near the Palace District.

8. The Christmas Market and Advent Feast by the Basilica of Budapest
This festival is a hub of Christmas fun! Through December, go ice skating at the ice rink, or shop through handmade goods. Or try delicious Hungarian food at one of the many local vendors. There are concerts and folk shows throughout the month as well.
9. Christmas Tree at the Parliament
Visit Hungary’s Parliament to see this huge Christmas tree! Its about 60 feet tall and weighs up to seven tons! Take the perfect greeting card picture in front of this gorgeous attraction.
