Dublin, Ireland holds many ways to celebrate this holiday season. If you have shopping to do, check out Gifted, a contemporary craft fair. You can go to Groovefest, a Christmas party that rocks on into the wee hours of the night. Or head to Leopardstown to cheer on a horse race. There is so much to discover this December in Dublin.
1. Groovefest Christmas Party
You can dance until 3 AM at this awesome dance party. December 28, groove the night away to Ireland’s hottest music.
2. Leopardstown Christmas Festival
December 26-29, watch horse racing at this incredible festival. There will be music and live entertainment. Don’t miss daily horse races and free children’s activities on December 29th.
3. 2fm Xmas Ball
This annual concert features some of the hottest Top 50 artists. It takes place at 3arena, which is right on the water and close to other popular sightseeing spots.
4. Gifted - Contemporary Craft & Design Fair
Shop through some of Ireland’s finest products. You can look through artwork like ceramics, jewelry, photos, metalwork. There are sculptures, glass, mixed media, and paintings. For art lovers and crafters, this contemporary fair is a must-see.

5. Gatsby’s New Year’s Eve Speakeasy
Dress like it’s the roaring 20s for this glamorous party! December 31, sip Prosecco and enjoy appetizers. The band begins to play at 9:30 PM, and of course there is a countdown to the new year at midnight. Ring in the new year at this Gatsby-themed party!
6. The Affordable Gift Show
This show is perfect for travelers on a budget. November 15, stop by the Affordable Gift Show to shop through 60 stands. Vendors will be selling crafts that can be personalized - perfect for everyone on your gift list.
7. Taste of Dublin
This festival is touted as a “foodie haven!” November 28-December 1, taste Ireland’s best foods all in one convenient location. Enjoy this smorgasbord of food, with masterclasses and live entertainment.
8. New Year’s Eve Gala
Attend a beautiful gala reception this December 31. Dress to impress at 7:30 PM for a Prosecco reception, followed by a delectable five-course dinner. Then dance into the new year at the ball, where DJs will play late into the night.
9. New Year’s Eve at Ardgillan
Check out Ardgillan Castle this December 31. You can ring in the new year with fireworks with the locals. The castle overlooks the Irish Sea and has a lovely view of the Mourne Mountains.
10. Santa Dash
Don’t miss an awesome Irish tradition - the Santa Run. All participants, kids and adults, get a free Santa costume upon paying their entry fee! Kids can meet Santa and get a free present. The races are 5k or 10k.
