Reykjavik is lovely to visit in August! With warm weather around 50 degrees and so many events to attend, you'll want to book your flight now! Check out Culture Night, the Reykjavik Marathon, and much more.
1. Reykjavik Culture Night
August 22, immerse yourself in Reykjavik’s culture of hospitality and diverse events! From 1 pm - 11 pm, museums, theatres, and other cultural institutions in downtown Reykjavik offer free events! The day ends with a firework show over the Harbor.

2. Lord of the Rings - Return of the King Concert
This exciting concert for Lord of the Ring fans will be held on August 14! Over 200 musicians will perform music from the film’s score.
3. Reykjavik Pride
One of Reykjavik’s biggest events is Pride, or Hinsegin dagar in Icelandic! It is celebrated by about 200,000 people each year! This giant event features queer dances, family events, live concerts, gay cruises, and art exhibits. Check it out August 4-9.
4. FIT & RUN 2020
Prepare yourself for the Reykjavik Marathon at this sporting goods event! The show offers fun for the whole family, with gear, food, kids entertainment, clothes, and more! Get everything you need to prep for your run at the Laurgardalsholl Sports Center on August 20-21.

5. Reykjavik Marathon
August 20-21, run in or watch the Reykjavik Marathon! After you get your gear at the FIT & RUN Expo, start the race. You can run a full marathon, half marathon, 10k, or a fun run, for ages 12 and up.
