London, England is a great place to spend your January. If you’re taking a relaxing vacation after the hectic holiday season, there are tons of great ways to unwind and enjoy yourself. Be there when the Circus is in town, shop at the popular Toy Fair, and take on the local food scene. Here are 10 of the most interesting things to check out in London this January.
1. New Year’s Day Parade
On January 1, ring in the New Year with this fun parade. Over 8,000 performers walk in the parade, including dancers, acrobats, and marching bands. Balloons and confetti fill the air as the parade floats drive by.

2. January Blues Festival
From January 15-31, experience blues music like never before. At venues all over London, you can see some of the finest blues musicians from England and worldwide.
3. Americana Fest
January 28-30, dance to the sounds of Americana. Over 75 popular bands will be playing at different venues around London. Locations include Moth Club, Empire Bar, and Hackney Church Brew Co.
4. Lightopia Festival
Head to Chiswick House on January 31 for this one-of-a-kind event! Visitors will see interactive art installations, such as a 3D light show and acrobatic performances. Lightopia Festival guides provide tours through the Chiswick Gardens, which are illuminated with thousands of lights.
5. Caribbean Splash
This awesome party returns for another year. Party to the best dancehall music from 7 PM-12 AM on January 17. Five DJs will be spinning music throughout the night.
6. Chinese New Year
Start the Year of the Rat in Chinatown! This is one of the biggest celebrations in London, taking place January 25-26. You can find great local Chinese food, a huge parade, and musical performances.

7. Circus 1903
December 19-January 5, the magic of the circus awaits you! See the Brazilian Wheel of Death, acrobats, knife-throwers and elephant puppets. Tickets sell out fast, so book in advance.
8. French Property Exhibition
There is so much to explore at the French Property Exhibition. Learn about French properties that are on the market, speak to advisors, and attend programs. Admission is free, and the exhibition runs from January 25-26.
9. The Toy Fair
For those who are young and young at heart, find every kind of toy at this fair! Discover handmade wooden toys, Christmas decorations, creative games, and much more. Head to the Toy Fair in Hammersmith from January 21-23.
10. The Mayfair Antiques & Fine Art Fair
Don’t miss this lovely annual art show at Grosvenor Square in London. There will be 40 exhibitors selling fine art and antique goods January 9-12. Art and goods range from ancient to contemporary.
