Madrid is an excellent choice for your next trip abroad. Even in the low travel season of January, there is so much to see and do in this popular city! You can munch on a squid sandwich at a gastro festival, or make a stop at the Promo Gift Expo to buy souvenirs for all your loved ones. Here are eight must-do activities while you're there.
1. Real Casa de Postas
Through January 5, visit the Real Casa de Postas - where Santa Claus receives his letters! This magical world is divided up into eight walkable sections. Kids will learn all about Santa and the Three Wise Men.

2. Three Kings Parade
January 5-6, celebrate the Three Kings Parade, or the Cavalcade of Magi. The Three Kings walk through the village giving treats and gifts to well-behaved children. The traditional parade starts at San Juan de la Cruz, and ends with fireworks at the square of Cibeles.

3. Inverfest
January 9-February 14, dance to the sounds of Madrid at Inverfest! Wear your dancing shoes to these R & B, soul, and flamenco shows. Over 30 bands will be playing all over Madrid.

4. Gastrofestival
Through January 23-February 10, check out this gastro festival to find the freshest local foods in Madrid. The festival is known for its squid sandwiches, tortilla skewers, and stew. This festival encourages visitors to experience gastronomy in uncommon venues: there are over 450 restaurants, book stores, clothes stores, and museums that participate.

5. “I Went to EGB” Festival
January 25, attend this fun concert! There will be over a dozen of Madrid’s best bands will be performing. You can dance to songs from the 80s, 90s, and more!

6. Promo Gift Expo
This is one of the most anticipated expos in Spain. Promo Gift has pretty much every type of product, from kitchenware to jewelry to toys and puzzles. From January 21-23, head to the Av. del Partenón and pick up some amazing souvenirs.

7. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid
