Embark on an Italian adventure this February! You'll easily get swept up in the architectural beauty of the city. Head to one of Firenze's many basilicas for a close look at historical objects and art. Take a few selfies in front of the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, then listen to an opera at night! Don't miss out on all there is to do this February in Florence.
1. Bargello Museum
Roaming the halls of the Bargello Museum is a lovely way to get to know Florence’s art scene! The Bargello Museum, open through February, contains Renaissance sculptures and paintings. This former castle contains the David by Donatello and a bust of Christ by Lombardo, among other important works.
2. Immagine Italia
Don’t miss out on the exquisite fashion of Immagine Italia. This festival sells lingerie, sleepwear, linens, and much more! Immagine takes place from February 1-3.
3. Duomo Cathedral
The Duomo Cathedral is one of the most famous buildings in the world. Built in 1436, Duomo is located in the heart of Florence. The Last Judgement fresco inside the dome is a can’t-miss sight!
4. Doom Over Florence
This annual metal concert is always a hit! On February 8, rock out to DJs playing heavy metal sets. The show takes place in Scandicci at the Circus arena.
5. Donizetti's Don Pasquale
February 21, 23, 26, and 29, head to the Opera di Firenze! The opera house is hosting Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. Matinee shows begin at 3:30 PM; evening shows start at 8 PM.
6. Ponte Vecchio
Ponte Vecchio is a well-known historic bridge and shopping center. It's great to visit in February, when tourism is lower. Jewelry stores, antique and art dealers, and souvenir shops are built into the side of the bridge.
7. Basilica di San Lorenzo
While it isn’t Florence’s biggest basilica, the Basilica di San Lorenzo is known for its incredible artwork. Visitors are awed by the many frescos, sculptures, and artwork displayed inside the church. San Lorenzo is open to visitors through February.
8. Forte di Belvedere
Head to Boboli Gardens to see Florence’s second-biggest fort. The forte was constructed in the 1500s. Visitors can see the fort - and capture that perfect vacation picture! - through the month of February.
