1. Festa Major de la Barceloneta

Enjoy fireworks on Barceloneta beach! Watch (or join in!) a 24-hour football tournament. The ‘feste’ has parades, music, fire-breathing dragons, and bouncy castles. Get a taste of Spain with free tastings of coca bread and muscatel. The beach activities run through early October.

2. La Castanyada

October 31-November 1 Spain celebrates All Saints’ Day, known as la Castanyada. Thousands of Spaniards visit cemeteries to honor the dead with flowers and vigils. As the night goes on, sip Moscatel wine and dine on candied fruits.

October 16-18, stop by the 6th annual Mercats de Barcelona! This popular gastronomic event has fresh local food at dozens of markets. Be on the lookout for demonstrations by top chefs. 5. Festival Internacional de Jazz de Barcelona

Calling all music lovers! If you’re discovering Barcelona from late October through December, you’ll want to stop into this acclaimed music festival.
