St Kilda

Just south of Melbourne's city center, this buzzing beachside suburb is packed with beauty, culture, and entertainment. Stroll down Fitzroy Street and find outdoor pubs, cute cafes, and restaurants that show off Melbourne's multicultural heritage. Home to the famous Luna Park, the Esplanade Hotel Catani Gardens, and Acland Street, St Kilda

Windsor

Roughly 4 miles southeast of Melbourne's Central Business District, Windsor is filled with bars, restaurants, music venues, and enough shops to satisfy the most addicted shopaholics. Stroll down the famous shopping mecca of Chapel Street, lined with trendy boutiques, theaters, and cute cafes. Windsor boasts a diverse range of architecture, from houses with Victorian terraces, to hi-rise towers! Meander through picturesque green parks and sip a flat white from any of the surrounding coffee roasteries.

Fitzroy

This lively suburb may take the cake for being the most funky and bohemian in the greater Melbourne area. What can you expect in Fitzroy? Well, besides narrow alleyways plastered in awe-inspiring street art, you can expect to find students and young professionals frequenting eclectic bars, vintage shops, and charming galleries. In Fitzroy, Victorian terraced houses sit delicately next to corner pubs, wine bars, and buzzing eateries.

Brunswick

If you're a music lover, you'll adore the suburb of Brunswick. This diverse area is rich in culture, as it boasts Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurants, offbeat shops, live music venues, and spirited beer gardens. While Brunswick is popular with Melbourne's young, alternative crowd, neighboring East Brunswick is more upscale, and home to young professionals.

Collingwood

This hip neighborhood is where galleries and coffee shops meet punk music venues and record stores. Once a blue-collar area, Collingwood has revamped itself into a hipster haven. In fact, many of the area's most popular galleries and cafes are housed inside converted workers' cottages and warehouses! If you consider yourself a member of the music scene, visit the famous Tote Hotel, then stroll down Smith Street for a bite at one of Collingwood's renowned restaurants.

South Yarra

It's upscale, it's trendy - it's South Yarra. Lined with stunning Art Deco-style apartment buildings, swanky boutiques, and classy cocktail lounges, this posh suburb is home to some of Melbourne's most well-rated restaurants. When you're done eating (for the time being), visit the adjacent Royal Botanic Gardens, peruse through art galleries, or gawk at the well-preserved 19th-century mansions that stud the area.

CBD

While Melbourne has its fair share of tucked away neighborhoods and hipster hideaways, we can't help but absolutely love the Central Business District. Shop the day away in 19th-century arcades, like the ornate Queen Victoria Market, then get your culture fill at any of the city's fascinating museums and galleries. In love with street art? Hosier Lane and Union lane are only two of the countless brightly painted streets that stretch through the city. Filled with art, coffee shops, beautiful shopping arcades, and chic eateries, Melbourne's CBD is an absolute gem.
