Ways to Visit Scotland

By Amanda Little

Scotland has some of the most amazing cities in the world, and some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes as well. There is no question of whether or not you should see it. The only question is how.

Car

This option is by far the quickest. Outside of an escourted tour, driving yourself from city to city, or even the Highlands, mkaes for the best adventure. However, gas is a little pricy here, and only gets more expensive the further into the Highlands you go.

Taxi

Since most people within the cities walk everywhere, taxis are a very common form of transportation. Make sure you know the number to call your taxi, or take your chances trying to get lucky and hail one.

Bus

The bus systems in major cities like Edinburgh or Glasgow is another quick ans easy way to get from one end of the city to the other. Some of them even go a little beyond the city limits, though not as regularly.

Train

Taking a rail through the amazing natural wonders is an amazing way to travel, but make sure you book it beforehand! While trains through heavily populated areas run regularly, those going out to the beautiful edges of this cuontry don't run as often, so do your research beforehand.

Train travel to Inverness is spectacular as the train weaves through the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. View the Scottish Highlands from the train on a day of relaxing travels.
