The experience we had was great in Costa Rica. The company made sure to book through a reliable and safe travel business in Costa Rica (ST Costa Rica is a fantastic company). The package we booked was exactly as described! The booking process was simple and they inform you of any changes after the time of booking. The one negative was our hotel the final night near the airport was run down and dated. It was listed as a 4 star hotel, however the online reviews of the hotel say otherwise. All of our other resorts were fantastic. Maybe consider looking at reviews before the travel company books a hotel simply off of star ratings.

Panama City & Cartagena

Panama City, Panama and Cartagena, Columbia were a wonderful combination of two cities that we had not visited. The flights on well-known carriers were excellent. The hotels were clean and comfortable. The only issue was with the hotels. Our hotel in Panama City was well beyond the city center. It was a minimum 30-minute Uber ride to any sights, which cost anywhere from $10 to $25 one-way. With the number of hotels in the city, we would think that there is a better location. Our hotel in Cartagena was in the beach zone, but it was a family hotel with numerous kids. The area across the street is a beach area called Playa De Bocagrande. It contains persistent venders, pushy sales tactics, litter, and murky waters. Tripadvisor rates it a 2.7 out of 5, which we believe is generous. Again, we had to Uber each day to see any sites in the old city, where there are numerous hotels and enjoyable sites. The great thing is that Uber is very safe and easy to use in both cities. Again, after figuring out the hotel situation in each city and how to overcome their respective issues, we had a fantastic time. We plan to return to each, but will avoid these two hotels.

Columbia 2026 first trip of the year.

Started of my trip looking at the weather, praying to God my flight take off, before the snow storm hit hard, and thank God it did, and i had a great time in Columbia on my solo trip. My second time using Great value vacation, and again everything was perfect, from the flight, transport to n from the airport, the hotel all great. Great experience

The trip went really well. We did a variety of tours, guides were spectacular, lodges and hotels were clean and comfortable. Nobody was late picking us up for the transportation shuttles or our day trips. I have never experienced such promptness. Also, they had our names on their list and there wasn't any confusion. The one time they were going to be late, they sent a note to the hotel the night before to say they were going to be 15 minutes late. The activities were all very worthwhile and so interesting. The only issue that was frustrating was the itinerary before we left. There were no details on the page. It just gave pick up times with no time duration of travel time, how long activities would last if we needed to book other adventures, or who/where we were going to be picked up. I contacted them once and what they sent was still very vague. I waited to contact again them till right before incase a final updated itinerary was sent, but it never changed. However, when I called, the person who answered was very helpful. She researched answers and emailed me a thorough itinerary with all the details that made the trip flow. It would have been so nice to have the that email itinerary initially instead of having to keep asking all the questions. Swiss Travel was our contact in Costa Rica and were quick to answer questions through What's App. I would book another trip with Great Value, but would insist on a more thorough itinerary.

The well planned itinerary was fun!

The well planned itinerary was our most liked part. We only wish there were more details about how long the transfers and activities would take. We could have easily added more tours ahead of time if we had known more details. Everything we did in Costa Rica was extremely awesome. That the flights and transfers were included made it so easy to enjoy the vacation. Every town was great and we hope to revisit in the future with more time at each one. The hotels were fantastic and near places of interest.

The overall trip was good

The overall trip was great. The air conditioning went out in the room I had and was told there was no available rooms for me after going to the front desk three times and only receiving help once. A different manager helped me to secure a different room. The hotel experience was on the lower end of places I have stayed.

Cartagena a beautiful destination

Cartagena is a beautiful destination. The AA flights were okay, but the layover on one flight was two long and the fee was $100 to change it; not pleasant. The Sonesta Hotel was very nice with a great location, super room, and superior staff. A day trip to a private lagoon for rest and & relaxation was fantastic - Pu Ae was the name! We would visit Cartagena again if the opportunity comes up. Carlos a guide that works out of the hotel helped us many times get around -- next time we will let Carlos take us for a day long tour of the city and surrounding areas. This is a fun visit, give it a try! Oh, the security at the hotel is serious and made us feel safe at all times... The only problem was the departure. The transfer driver to the airport was a no-show. We called the company and did not get a good resolution. We ended up getting Carlos to take us - saving us again... lol... Cost us $50.00 out of pocket!
