Day 1. Welcome to Cartagena!
There's nothing like Cartagena, the colonial jewel of Colombia! Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation.Â
Once you get settled, head out and get to know the city.Â
Transfer from CTG Airport to Cartagena hotel

Almirante Cartagena Hotel is located on a beach in the lively Bocagrande neighborhood of Cartagena. The hotel is elegantly decorated with amenities including a pool, casino, spa, and fitness center. Each guest room design is inspired by the colonial style of the city, and most rooms have a beautiful view of colorful Cartagena. There is also a desk, private bathroom, minibar and air-conditioning.
The hotel has multiple on-site restaurants. Alcatraz Restaurant specializes in international cuisine and overlooks the Bocagrande beach, while The Terrace Café offers refreshing drinks and sandwiches with al fresco dining. American Bar offers a quiet, relaxed environment in the hotel lobby with some live music, and the Sports Bar is the perfect place to grab drinks and play games.
Guests are just minutes away from some of the best places in Cartagena when staying at this hotel. The Caribbean and Emerald Jewelry Museum is only two minutes away, and Cartagena Modern Art Museum and Bolivar Park are both within a 15-minute drive. Bocagrande Beach is just a minute away, and Castillo Grande Beach is only four minutes from the hotel.
Day 2. Cartagena
Enjoy breakfast, but don't fill up too much! Today's all about Colombian cuisine. Embark on a guided visit to Bazurto Market, then put on your apron and enjoy a 3-course cooking class!
Bazurto Market Tour & Cooking Class
Bazurto is the biggest local market for all types of products in Cartagena. This tour will start by visiting this local site, filled with authenticity in its smells, flavors, colors, and people. When you get to the market, you will enter through the dining rooms, where the Bazurto restaurants and their traditional cooks are set. You will first visit the inside of the market through the seafood and meats area. Following, you will pass through an alley to the herbs and vegetable area, where you will meet some of the herb doctors and healers. You will learn about the power of herbs to indigenous cultures and their relation to medicine. In this same area, you will get to see and taste local vegetables and their uses. After the vegetables, the tour continues to the fruits area, where you discover plenty of exotic tastes and colors, rare to the rest of the world.
After visiting the market, you will be picked up and transferred to the bistro, where you will try a brunch degustation menu that will allow you to better understand the use of many of the ingredients seen at the market. Following to the degustation, pass to the kitchen to start the 3-course cooking class. Learn how to prepare a traditional tarter, main dish, and dessert, accompanied by tropical fruits mojitos.
Around 2:00 PM, you will return to the hotel on your own but before you will be able to take time for enjoying the charm of Cartagena streets at the historical center.
Day 3. Cartagena
Today, you'll explore the Getsemani neighborhood and enjoy an included rum tasting! Taste local flavors and savor a wonderful day.Â
Cartagena Rum Tasting
Get ready to rum-ble! Around 4:30 PM, you will be transferred from your hotel to Arsenal Bar. Located in the Getsemani neighborhood, in front of the Convention Center. The Arsenal seduces costumers with its lounge atmosphere, crafted cocktails, and great variety of first-class rums. Their cocktail bar and menu was created by its owner and host Dau Abraham, known to be an excellent chef, awarded among the winners of Colombian bartending and expert in rum tasting. The tasting begins with a mini welcome cocktail, followed by a mixture of Colombian rum, aguardiente and rum infusions; some paired with different kinds of Colombian chocolate. The visitors will taste rum for shooting, sipping and mixing into cocktails, ranging in age from 4 - 27 years. This tour invites you to participate and understand the history of rum and its distilling process while enjoying a few light bites from Chef Dau's menu.
Day 4. Depart Colombia
It's time to waive goodbye to beautiful Cartagena. Pack up all your souvenirs and enjoy a convenient transfer to the airport for your flight home.Â
