Day 1. Welcome to Budapest!
Immerse yourself in the culture and class of Hungary's capital! Upon arrival in Budapest, enjoy a convenient transfer to your luxurious accommodation. Once you're all settled, begin exploring the city!Â
Tonight, you might want to check out the Jewish Quarter, otherwise known as District VII. Filled with gorgeous architecture, rich history, and buzzing bars and restaurants, this unique area is the perfect blend of artsy cool and culturally sophisticated.
Transfer from airport (BUD) to hotel
Check-in - Leonardo Hotel Budapest
Revel in the luxuries that the elegant, 4-star Leonardo Hotel offers. Dine in the hotel's restaurant or bistro, enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the premises, and utilize access to an underground parking garage and gym.
Rooms boast private bathrooms, air conditioning, safes, satellite TV, a work desk and a mini-fridge, along with a complimentary mineral water offered upon arrival. The hotel rests in Budapest's Ferencvaros district, adorned with charming old town scenery. The metro station is only an 8-minute walk away, and the Szechenyi Baths are a mere 3 miles away.
Day 2. Budapest
Enjoy a pleasant breakfast, then grab your camera and get going! Embark on an awesome tour of Buda and Pest. See the city from a truly unique perspective and give your camera a workout. Your day will be filled with fun and fascination.
Tonight, treat yourself to some hearty goulash!
Budapest City Tour (3 hours)
Start the tour from the Chain Bridge, pass by the Parliament building and take the Margaret Bridge to drive over to the Buda side. Then, stop in the Castle District and during a short walk, see the main attractions of the area. Walk to Matthias Church and to the Fishermen’s Bastion (from where you can enjoy a beautiful panorama).
Next, drive to the Gellért Hill (Citadel) and see the most spectacular view of Budapest. Then over the Elisabeth Bridge to Pest to see the famous Central Market Hall and the largest Synagogue of Europe, after which we will drive to City Park. Pass by Europe’s largest thermal spa, the Budapest Zoo, and the Amusement Park. Stop at the Heroes’ Square (with statues of the most famous Hungarian kings and dukes), then take the Andrássy Avenue to downtown Pest.
Also pass by the Opera House and St Stephen’s Basilica. During the tour, get a brief overview of the last 1000 years of Hungarian history. The tour ends in the city center. Highlights of the tour include the State Opera House, Central Market Hall: Budapest's oldest indoor market, Széchenyi spa: one of Europe's largest public spas, Vajdahunyad Castle, City Park´s fairy tale castle, The magnificent Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church with its colorful ceramic tiles and the Royal Palace
Day 3. Budapest
Recharge with breakfast, then strap on your walking shoes and head to Castle Hill. This must-see World Heritage Site is packed with history and medieval beauty. Walk the cobblestone streets and pass Buda Castle, Matthias Church, and other stunning structures. Another fun idea is to see this district by funicular! A hillside cable railway runs from the banks of the Danube up into the castle district. The ride is quick, but the views will last a lifetime!
In Castle Hill, be sure to check out the Fisherman's Bastion (or Halaszbastya). This gleaming white neo-Gothic structure looks straight out of a fairytale! Have your camera ready for tons of selfies and gorgeous panoramic views of the city.Â
Also, take some time to really explore Matthias Church. A structure as beautiful and grand as this Romanesque church deserves major attention!
Day 4. Budapest
They don't call Budapest the "City of Spas" for nothing. After breakfast, relax the day away with a soak in a thermal bath. It doesn't get much more "quintessential Budapest" than that!
Near the baths, you'll come across Heroes' Square (Hosok tere), the largest public square in the city! There, snap a photo of the iconic Millennium Monument.
Day 5. Budapest
Ahh, waking up in Budapest is something special. Enjoy an energizing breakfast, then spend the day sightseeing! Head to the iconic Hungarian Parliament Building, then gawk at the spectacular Hungarian State Opera House.
While in Budapest, be sure to try paprikas, stuffed cabbage, sausages, and other authentic Hungarian favorites!
Day 6. Depart Hungary
Squeeze all your souvenirs into your luggage and take your transfer to the airport (BUD). Board your plane and spend your flight home dreaming about your next adventure!
