Today you have a full free day to explore Colombia's exciting capital! Begin your day in La Candelaria, Bogota's oldest district. Stand in the center of Plaza de Bolivar, flanked by the cathedral, the Palace of Justice, and the National Capitol - but be weary of the many pigeons that call this square home!
From here, walk to the Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), a fascinating museum containing 55,000 pieces of gold and other precious jewels and gems from all the major pre-Hispanic cultures in Colombia.Â
Cap off your day with a funicular ride up to the top of Monserrate, Bogota's mountain in the clouds. Enjoy spectacular views of the sprawling city below, take a few selfies, then enjoy a Colombian meal at one of the many stalls at the adjoining market.
Day 3. Bogota - Cartagena
Say goodbye to Bogota today as you fly to Cartagena! Unwind at your next hotel, then spend the rest of the day exploring at your own pace.
Perhaps you'd like to head into the old town, where you can get lost in the dreamy cobblestone streets. Cartagena's coastal location means fresh seafood, and lots of it. Choose from one of the many restaurants and treat yourself to fried fish or seafood stew.
Fly to Cartagena!
Check-in - Cartagena Plaza
Wake up to the sound of the Caribbean waves crashing at this 4-star hotel in Cartagena's modern Bocagrande district.
