Day 1. Welcome to Reykjavik!
Upon arrival to Keflavik International Airport, make your way outside of the arrival hall and look for the coaches marked “Flybus.” You have a Flybus Plus ticket, so upon presenting your voucher, you will be redirected to a smaller shuttle that will take you to your hotel.
When you leave the airport,
there is only the mysterious lava plain of the Reykjanes Peninsula standing
between you and the buzz from the energetic capital city, Reykjavik. The ride
across the barren lava takes little less than an hour and is thankfully devoid
of any demons, making the start of your journey as safe as possible. The
remainder of your day is at leisure to enjoy Reykjavik!

Day 2. Reyjkavik - Akureyri
After a hearty breakfast, make your way to the domestic airport, where you'll board a 60-minute flight to the beautiful town of Akureyri. Often referred to as the "capital of the north," Akureyri is by far the largest town in the north of Iceland, and is the second largest urban area in Iceland, with a population of a little less than 20,000. Located less than 40 miles from the Arctic Circle, the mountains in the area are often capped with snow year round, and in the winter they offer some of the best skiing in the country.
Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Fly to Akureyri!
Check-in - Icelandair Hotel Akureyri
Icelandair Hotel Akureyri is a new, friendly hotel, opened in the summer of 2011, with tastefully decorated, bright and sunny rooms and inviting facilities. The view from the hotel is magnificent and visitors can enjoy the nearby natural wonders, as well as the cultural life in the "capital of North Iceland." The warm geothermal swimming pool is just across the street and the center of Akureyri is only a short walk away. The hotel garden is eminently cozy during winter and summer - where you can enjoy the midnight sun or the northern lights with open fireplace and blankets, drinks and snacks.
Day 3. Akureyri
Today you will be entering the otherworldly landscapes of Lake Myvatn, where the scenes for "North of the Wall" were filmed, on your guided Game of Thrones tour.
After a day of beautiful waterfalls, volcanoes, unusual lava rock formations, steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools and mysterious landscapes, you'll end the day with a splash at the Myvatn Nature Baths. They are not a filming location for Game of Thrones, but the calming waters relax you while you imagine being surrounded by other Free Folk.
Guided Game of Thrones Tour
As the majestic Waterfall of the Gods, Godafoss, greets you, it quickly becomes apparent why the Game of Thrones production crew were drawn to this area. According to the Icelandic Sagas, the waterfall draws its name from Thorgeir of Ljosavatn throwing his statues of the heathen gods into the falls, when Iceland converted to Christianity in the year 1000.
Your next stop will be the magical places where the latest series of Game of Thrones were filmed. Here you can try to relive the action in the locations seen in the series. Hopefully you will not encounter any White Walkers, but with Iceland's rich folklore, let your story-telling guide boost your imagination with tales of trolls and Hidden People alongside curious facts about what happened behind the scenes of Games of Thrones.
Day 4. Akureyri - Reykjavik
This morning, make your way back to the airport for your return flight to Reykjavik; return to your Reykjavik hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore Reykjavik. Although the city of Reykjavík is a metropolis in every sense, it's been carefully developed and crafted around a number of easily accessible recreational areas and country parks. With an extensive network of well-maintained footpaths and cycling routes winding through the city’s numerous parks and nature reserves, you won’t have to travel far to take a quick break from city life and explore nature.
A Tip For Your Trip: At some point today, please ask the hotel staff for assistance with confirming your Flybus Plus transfer to the airport tomorrow.
