UNESCO Lion Rock of Sigiriya & Cave Temple in Dambulla
Sigiriya, the impressive 5th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site, rises 600 feet from the plains overlooking the surrounding countryside giving far-reaching views. Because this site was used as a safe haven from invaders, the route to the top requires quite a few steps. From the base, where a moat surrounds impressive water gardens, you'll ascend about 650 feet, passing an overhanging rock under which superb portraits of native maidens holding flowers and temple offerings still adorn the rock wall. Crowning the flat-topped summit of the rock are remains of the King's Summer Palace, from where you'll catch breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The descent is much easier than the climb, and you can cool off in the hotel pool at dusk!
After an exciting start, drive to Dambulla and visit the massive Cave Temple! Dambulla, located in the north central province which dates back to the 1st century BC, is Sri Lanka’s greatest Cave Temple complex. The walls are alive with frescoes of religious and secular scenes and beautiful geometric designs in warm oranges and golds! This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a perfect location to view evolution of ancient Sri Lankan art.
Day 4. Sigiriya - Kandy
Fuel up with breakfast, then head for the hills! Enjoy a scenic drive to the picturesque town of Kandy. Along the way, you'll make a pit stop at a spice garden near Matale. See and smell various spices and herbs, and consider stocking up on massage oils, cooking spices, or Ayurvedic medicines!
One of Sri Lanka's most charming towns, Kandy is famous for its gorgeous lakeside setting. It's also home to the gold-roofed Temple of the Tooth, a significant sacred Buddhist site that contains a tooth of Buddha, collected from his funeral pyre! Upon arrival, enjoy a special visit to this famous temple.
In the afternoon, you'll enjoy a Kandyan Cultural show at the Kandyan Arts & Cultural Centre! Admire rhythmic dancers and tap along to drums as you partake of this vibrant spectacle.
Check-in - Cinnamon Citadel
Cinnamon Citadel is a nature-lover's paradise. Set beside the Mahaveli River and a backdrop of mountains, the hotel provides a quiet setting not far from Sri Lanka’s bustling hill capital of Kandy. All rooms offer views of either the hotel's beautifully landscaped gardens or the Mahaveli River. Relax in the comfort of your king size bed and enjoy free WiFi, complimentary toiletries, and more. Take a dip in the gorgeous outdoor pool, or squeeze in a workout in the fitness center. Freshen up before trying one of the hotel's two restaurants, and then enjoy a night cap in the Lounge Bar. You'll be surrounded by nature wherever you go within Cinnamon Citadel.
Temple of Tooth
Explore the gold-roofed Temple of the Tooth! Known as one of the most significant Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka, this temple is true to its name. The Temple of the Tooth actually contains one of Buddha's teeth! It was collected from his funeral pyre in 543 B.C. This site draws thousands of pilgrims from across the world each year!
Day 5. Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, start off your day with beautiful flora and fauna. Visit the famous Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya and see all sorts of tropical indigenous and exotic plants, including those of coffee, tea, nutmeg, and Java fig.Â

Located at a soaring altitude of 6,128 feet, Nuwara Eliya is a picturesque town known to many as "Little England," as it was a popular English vacation destination during colonial times. Much of the architecture still reflects this cultural touch! Upon arrival in this beautiful area, check into your next accommodation and spend the evening at leisure.
Check-in - Jetwing St. Andrews
Step back in time with a stunning 19th-century colonial mansion accommodation at Jetwing St. Andrews. The traditional bedchambers combined with modern amenities will make you feel right at home. Crisp accommodations with tropical hues and garden views also feature complimentary luxury toiletries, coffee/tea making facilities, and free WiFi. Try one of the four signature dining experiences offered, including a traditional British pub and High Tea. The hotel is happy to arrange for a car to take you through the area to help you make the most of your time in Nuwara Eliya.
Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya
Travel back in time at the picturesque Perdeniya Botanical Gardens, where the British once pioneered the growing of exotic plants such as coffee, tea, nutmeg, rubber, and more! These magnificent gardens stretch about 150 acres and feature a lush arboretum, a colorful orchid house, and huge colonies of flying foxes!

Rich with colonial architecture, Galle is known for its 17th-century Dutch Fort - a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Visit this beautiful attraction and take in the charm of this fascinating city.
In the late afternoon, you'll journey back to Beruwala for one final night. Be sure to check all the local sites, restaurants, and shops off your Beruwala bucket list before returning to your hotel for the night.
UNESCO Dutch Fort & Turtle Hatchery
Dutch Fort is the main attraction in the city of Galle. The outer walls of the 17th-century fort remain completely intact, despite the decay of many surrounding structures. Within the fort, you'll find several old churches dating back to the 1700s and many old buildings within the narrow streets. Enjoy the beautiful views from the top of the fort walls at dusk.
Day 8. Depart Sri Lanka
