Day 1. Welcome to Lima!
Say "hola" to Peru! Upon arrival in Lima, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. After you settle in, explore your accommodations and the surrounding area.
In the evening, enjoy your first Peruvian meal near your hotel.

Day 2. Lima
Today you'll enjoy your Colonial & Contemporary Lima City Tour with San Francisco Monastery & Larco Museum. Take a stroll through the historical center and marvel at the vibrant colonial architecture which surrounds the picturesque "Plaza San Martin" and the main square, "Plaza de Armas". Here, you can witness the grandeur of the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and the Municipality.
Satisfy your curiosity by exploring the underground network of tunnels and catacombs in the San Francisco Monastery. Afterward, venture into Lima's contemporary districts, Miraflores and San Isidro, where you can indulge in the beauty of parks like "El Olivar" and "Parque del Amor", go shopping, and experience modern architecture.
End your journey at the Larco Museum, where more than 45,000 objects await your admiration, including pre-Columbian ceramics, textiles, gold, and silver pieces. Savor the infamous and exclusive collection of erotic ceramics from the Mochica culture, which cannot be missed.
Colonial & Contemporary Lima City Tour, including Larco Museum (4.5 hours)
Start your tour in Lima’s contemporary districts, Miraflores and San Isidro, that combine beautiful parks, such as “El Olivar” and “Parque del Amor”, shopping centers, and modern architecture. In the historical center, admire the colorful colonial architecture around the “Plaza San Martín” and the main square “Plaza de Armas”, where you can also see the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and the Municipality. From here, visit the San Francisco Monastery and discover its underground maze of tunnels and catacombs.
Finish the tour visiting Larco Museum. It is considered one of the best museums in Latin America. This museum features the best and most complete pre-Hispanic gold and silver collection in the world. It is well-known because of its erotic ceramics exhibits as well as its vast storage galleries.
After the tour, return to your hotel.
Day 3. Lima - Cusco
Following breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the airport for your morning flight to Cusco, Peru's breathtakingly beautiful colonial city! The juxtaposition of cultures makes this city one of the world's top destinations.
After you've settled in, enjoy a walking tour taking you to Cusco Cathedral and the sun temple Koricancha!

Day 4. Cusco - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes
Fuel up with breakfast at your hotel before transferring to Ollantaytambo train station for your expedition to Machu Picchu. Once you arrive in the town of Aguas Calientes, you’ll have a shuttle bus escort you to the citadel followed by a guided tour of Machu Picchu. Once you've marveled at this mysterious and spectacular archaeological site, a shuttle bus will escort you down from Machu Picchu back to Aguas Calientes, where you will walk to your nearby hotel.

Hike up to the San Blas neighborhood and pick up a few souvenirs to take home. In the evening, indulge in a few of Peru's delicacies. Adventurous eaters may want to try the local specialty, cuy (guinea pig).
Day 7. Cusco - Puerto Maldonado
Today you will depart Cusco for Puerto Maldonado, the capital of the southern jungle. Cruise by motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River until you reach your accommodation. Enjoy lunch then take a walk through nature trails, where you will learn about primary and secondary rainforest and its relevance in the world.
At dusk, you will embark on another canoe ride for a twilight river excursion. Cruise on the Madre de Dios River and learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animals’ behavior, and the southern constellations.

Feel like you're part of the Amazonian jungle at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion, located between the Tambopata National Reserve and the shores of the Madre de Dios River. Wake up to the sounds of birds chirping from one of the 19 screened-in ensuite cabañas, perched on stilts, or the six-room casa grande with high ceilings and a rustic thatched roof. Day 8. Puerto Maldonado
Get ready for a long trek through terra firma into the Tambopata National Reserve towards Lake Sandoval. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of Peru, while learning about the reserve’s conservation efforts and the lake’s formation. Cruise by canoe across this mirror-like oxbow lake that's home to the endangered giant river otter, blue and yellow macaw, red howler monkeys, black caiman, and the world’s biggest fresh water fish, paiche.
Return to your lodge for lunch, then embark on a canopy walk! Take a 20-minute ride by canoe to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects of ITA-Inkaterra Asociación (NGO). Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 feet high. Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to see white-throated toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys and the three-toed sloth! After descending, go along the wooden bridge over the swamps (aguajales). Learn about the fauna and flora of this flooded ecosystem.
Then get ready for a nighttime rainforest adventure! Listen and watch for the Amazon's nocturnal animals including jaguars, pumas and sloths.
Day 9. Puerto Maldonado - Lima
After breakfast, transfer back to Puerto Maldonado for your flight to Lima. Before departing, visit the Inkaterra Butterfly House, a large butterfly garden and reproduction laboratory offering an interactive experience with a large variety of butterflies.
After you arrive and settle into your Lima hotel, dine on fresh seafood and say cheers to an unforgettable vacation with a Pisco Sour, Peru's national drink!
