Day 1. Welcome to Rome!
Touch down in the land of culture and cuisine! Upon arrival in the Eternal City, make your way to your first luxurious accommodation. Check-in, freshen up, then begin exploring this fascinating city!
Start your vacation strong with a pleasant evening near buzzing Piazza Navona. Did someone say pasta and gelato? Treat yourself! After dinner, walk over to the Spanish Steps, then head to the nearby Trevi Fountain and feast your eyes on a true spectacle, as it becomes illuminated against the dark of nightfall. Throw a coin over your shoulder and wish for a return trip to Rome!

Day 2. Rome
Ahh, waking up in Rome is something special. Enjoy a lovely breakfast, then begin a day of sightseeing! Why not start with the Colosseum? Please note that, if you are interested in entering the Colosseum, you will need to purchase tickets. Booking tickets online is recommended, but on-site tickets are available while supplies last per day. If you do purchase on-site tickets, the ticket teller may tell you to return at a later "reservation" time, as tickets are sold in hourly slots to ensure less crowding. Have no fear - there is no wasted time in Rome! While waiting, discover the secrets of the Roman Forum and enjoy the views from Palatine Hill!
After a thrilling morning, cross the Tiber River to Trastevere, a funky, bohemian area filled with innovative trattorias, artisan shops, and picture-perfect squares.
Day 3. Rome
Refuel with a yummy breakfast, then make your way to Vatican City! Today, gawk at St. Peter's Basilica - you'll feel tiny compared to the enormous square that surrounds you! Consider visiting the famous Sistine Chapel in the Vatican Museums. Keep in mind that St. Peter's Basilica is a sight to see both during day and nighttime. Many travelers make a trip back after dark to see this architectural wonder lit up against the night sky!
When you leave Vatican City, you'll pass the massive and magnificent Castel Sant'Angelo near where you'll cross the statue-lined Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II or Ponte Sant'Angelo back toward Rome's center city.
Walk along the Via del Governo Vecchio, past Piazza Navona and get ready to be amazed! Step into the Pantheon and feel your eyes get lost in the intricate detail of this fascinating structure. Treat yourself to a delicious meal (and cannoli) in the area! If you have the energy, take that short trip back to Vatican City - yes, it's worth it.
Day 4. Rome - Barcelona
Savor one last cappuccino during breakfast, then say "ciao" to Rome. Make your way to the airport and hop on a short flight to Barcelona!
Upon arrival, head to your hotel and check-in. Once you're all settled, grab your camera and roam around the charming Gothic Quarter, or as locals call it, "Barri Gotic." Weave through narrow medieval streets filled with trendy bars, cute shops, and Catalan restaurants. Be sure to check out La Rambla for some serious souvenir shopping!
Fly to Barcelona!
You'll be just a 15 minutes' walk from the famous Sagrada Familia at the Leonardo Boutique Hotel in Barcelona. Gaze up at the 38-story skyscraper "Torre Agbar" and shop until you drop at Encants Vells, both within walking distance. Excellent transport connections from Clot Metro Station allow you to reach the city center in only 10 minutes.

Day 5. Barcelona

Spend a lovely afternoon at Park Guell, another Gaudi masterpiece. Follow mosaic-colored steps, find artistic sculptures, and gaze out at panoramic views of the city!
Day 6. Barcelona - Madrid
After breakfast, get ready for the next and final stop on your European journey! Hop aboard the train to Madrid. Be sure to keep your eyes on the scenery out the window during the ride!
Upon arrival in the marvelous city of Madrid, make your way to your final accommodation. Settle in, then enjoy the afternoon in the city's vibrant main Square, Plaza Mayor. If time allows, check out the enormous 18th-century Royal Palace!
