Day 1. Welcome to Reykjavik!
Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival, you’ll board the Flybus Shuttle transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the colorful city, visit a museum or two, and get to know the area!

Day 2. Reykjavik - Borgarfjörður Saga Valley
You’ll meet your guide this morning for a tour of the capital, before traveling west into the picturesque Saga Valley. This evening brings your first Northern Lights presentation, followed by a chance to step out into the hotel gardens and hopefully catch your first glimpse of Aurora Borealis!

After breakfast, join your guide for a sightseeing tour of Reykjavík’s highlights before setting out westward. Your first stop is Borgarnes, where the Settlement Center brings Iceland’s earliest history to life. From there, continue into Borgarfjörður, often referred to as the the Saga Valley, an area rich with legendary events. Climb to the rim of the Grábrók crater for sweeping views, and witness the raw power of Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most impressive hot spring. Nearby, marvel at Hraunfossar, a ribbon of waterfalls flowing from beneath an ancient lava field, and Barnafoss, the “Children’s Falls,” with its haunting story. Later, enjoy a lecture on the Northern Lights before dinner. As night falls, step out into the hotel garden with a warm drink in hand and look skyward for your first dazzling encounter with the Aurora Borealis.
Day 3. Snaefellsnes Peninsula & Vatnshellir Lava Cave
Today, your guide will help you discover the dramatic landscapes of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, from charming fishing villages and iconic mountains to coastal cliffs and lava caves beneath the glacier.
End the day with Northern Lights viewing and relaxation in outdoor hot tubs.
The Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often called “the peninsula of the snowy mountain,” stretches long through Iceland’s west coast. With its rugged mountain chain, it’s considered a microcosm of the entire island. Explore the fishing village of Grundarfjörður, framed by dramatic mountains, lakes, and waterfalls, and see Kirkjufell, one of Iceland’s most photographed peaks, rising from the bay. Continue to Arnarstapi and Hellnar before heading underground into Vatnshellir Lava Cave, where you’ll descend 115 feet and walk 650 feet through a lava tube beneath Snæfellsjökull Glacier.
Day 4. Golden Circle
Explore some of the highlights of the Golden Circle’s natural and cultural side today, with stops to experience geothermal wonders, waterfalls, and local traditions (including bread tasting). End the day in South Iceland, where the evening is reserved for more Northern Lights hunting.

This afternoon, learn about Icelandic horses and tour a geothermal greenhouse.
Day 5. South Iceland
For today's continued journey, explore the highlights of Iceland’s South Coast, from cultural sites and dramatic waterfalls to black sand beaches, before continuing into the Vatnajökull National Park area for a two-night stay with excellent Northern Lights viewing opportunities.
Surrounded by lava fields, the Fosshotel Nupar is the perfect base for exploring the "Land of Fire and Ice." Guests will enjoy comfort, convenience, and scenic views of Vatnjökull, the world‘s largest glacier outside the Arctic. Explore the surrounding Skaftafell National Park in the mornings, then wind down with a bite at the on-site restaurant in the evening. You'll be a short distance away by Mount Lómagnúpur, the craters at Lakagígar and the amazing Jökulsárlón, Iceland's otherworldly glacial lagoon.

Day 6. Vatnajokull National Park
Make today all about glaciers and ice by witnessing more of the dramatic landscapes that Iceland has to offer, during your tour of Vatnajökull National Park. Visit the tiny turf church at Hof, and walk the black-sand Diamond Beach as well.
Learn all about glaciers, ice and icebergs on today's adventure! Visit Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, where floating icebergs and playful seals fill the arctic waters, and walk along the black-sand Diamond Beach, where large icebergs are often stranded. Continue to the turf church at Hof, and spend time at Vatnajökull National Park, Europe's largest national park, and home to Iceland’s highest peaks and largest glacier. In the evening, enjoy a Northern Lights presentation.
Day 7. South Shore - Blue Lagoon - Reykjavik
Travel back along the South Coast with stops at striking natural landmarks before enjoying a relaxing soak in the Blue Lagoon. Head back to Reykjavík for the final night of your journey.

For your last touring day, you'll cross from Kirkjubæjarklaustur to the Eldhraun lava field, then to the village of Vík for a photo stop at its dramatic black sand beach. Continue west to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall before unwinding in the soothing geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon. Return to Reykjavík this evening for your final night, as the guided tour concludes.
Day 8. Depart Iceland
After a week of exploring, searching, climbing, soaking, and discovering, board the Flybus Shuttle transfer to the airport to catch your flight home.
