The drive from Rome to Montegufoni is approximately 2.5 - 3 hours. In order to arrive at your accommodation in time for check-in, be sure to choose a flight which allots time for travel.
Check-in at Castello Di Montegufoni is NOT available after 10:00pm. If checking in between 7:00pm-10:00pm, a late check-in fee of 25 Euro is charged, and must be paid directly to the hotel.
At Castello Di Montegufoni, the following taxes and fees are not included and must be paid directly to the property:
- Cash security deposit of 150 Euro (refundable).
- Mandatory final cleaning fee of 50 euro for a one-bedroom villa and 60 euro for a two-bedroom villa
- Local Tax of 1 EUR per person, per day for the first six days of your stay- applies only to adults over the age of 15.
- Heating fee (if used) of 20 Euro per day for a one-bedroom villa and 25 Euro per day for a two-bedroom villa.

Day 1. Welcome to Rome!
You've arrived in Rome! Pick up the rental car that will be yours for the duration of your trip and take off to your magnificent accommodations in Tuscany. Driving through the gorgeous countryside will provide amazing photo opportunities, so stop whenever you'd like! Be sure to check into your accommodations on time to avoid a late check-in fee.
Check-in - Castello di Montegufoni
Castello di Montegufoni, a 12th-century castle set in the Tuscan hills, offers the perfect home for your Tuscan adventure. Set in the midst of a large and very charming terraced park overlooking beautiful Italian gardens, it still retains a certain medieval flavor which blends smoothly with Renaissance refinement and solidity. In addition to the 15 spacious and comfortable accommodations, the Castle offers a swimming pool, and restaurant specializing in sumptuous local Chianti fare. Golf, horseback riding, hiking, biking, and spa facilities can all be found within easy reach.
In addition to the 15 Castle apartments, Castello di Montegufoni offers Dependance apartments located only footsteps from the Castle. Offering access to the full range of facilities such as the pool, restaurant, and on-site activities, these modernized apartments have a large living room with a dining area and a kitchen corner. Dependance apartments have 2 - 4 bedrooms, one or more bathrooms, a freezer, and many have an outdoor area with gazebo furnished with table and chairs. Some apartments include air-conditioning, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a fireplace. Depending on Castle apartment availability, you may be accommodated in a Dependance apartment rather than a Castle apartment.
The hotel restaurant is open from March 1st through October 30th (closed on Tuesdays, opens at 12:00 pm). The hotel bar is open from April 1st through September 15th.Â

Day 2. Tuscany
The Montegufoni Castle is located in the heart of the Chianti Region in Tuscany. With your rental car, feel free to take a 30-minute ride to Florence. Florence is a very culturally diverse city, known as the birthplace of the Renaissance.
Day 3. Tuscany
Today we recommend you spend some more time in Florence and check out its "must-see" sites including the Duomo, the Pitti Palace, and the Uffizi Gallery.
Day 4. Tuscany
Today you might want to journey over to Pisa, which is almost a two-hour drive but is home to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Day 5. Tuscany
Take a drive through the Tuscan countryside. Admire the picturesque landscape and the beautiful scenery. You'll find charming towns throughout this region such as Siena and Ravenna.Â
Day 6. Tuscany
For your final full day in the Tuscan region, if you are looking to do a little less driving but still want to explore, head south for about an hour and you will reach the city of Arezzo. Enjoy the Medieval towers and Renaissance style sprinkled throughout the streets and the busy Piazza Grande, the city center!
Day 7. Tuscany - Rome
Spend the last two nights of your getaway in Rome! Dive into the many sights and tourist attractions as well as the local cafes and Italian eateries! Visit the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and more.

Next door, visit the ancient government buildings at the Roman Forum. You'll then want to head over to the Pantheon, where you can see one of the most influential and well-preserved monuments of its time.
