Day 1. Welcome to Florence!
Arrive in Florence and pick up the rental car that you will have for the duration of your trip. Take off to your first destination in the Tuscan countryside, the Il Borro Estate Farmhouse. The drive will take between three and four hours from the Aeroporto Leonardo da Vinci di Fiumicino.
Check-in - Il Borro Farmhouse
Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Il Borro Farmhouse is only a short drive from Florence, Siena and Arezzo, making it an excellent location for taking day trips through Italy’s countryside.Â
Set on a 1,000-year-old castle estate that spans over 700 acres, Il Borro Farmhouse has ancient and mysterious origins, now lost in the mists of time. Its location lies in the basin of the Upper Valdarno, a large natural floodplain carved by the passage of the Arno River and bordered by the Pratomagno ridge, the Apennine Mountains and the hills of Chianti.Â
All of Il Borro's five farmhouses offer kitchens and private gardens. Dining on site is an especially unique experience, with the Tuscan Bistro and the Osteria del Borro serving superb Italian cuisine. The estate runs a substantial program of activities horse stables, wine cellars with available tastings, and cooking classes. In the heart of the estate is a wellness spa, housed in a classical Tuscan building, catering to the needs of all travelers, from overall well-being to beauty, as well as mental and physical fitness and nutrition.
Day 2. Tuscany
While in Tuscany, you can take a different day trip every day and experience a new side of Italy. Head to Florence for a day and discover the exciting culture, the dynamic atmosphere and all of the history that exists in this vibrant city. While in Florence, a must-see site is the city’s Duomo, which is a cathedral that took nearly 150 years to complete.  You will also want to visit the Uffizi Gallery for some Italian artwork and the Basilica di Santa Croce.Â
Day 3. Tuscany
You will be within short driving distance from Siena, San Gimignano, Certaldo, Lucca and Arezzo. Take a drive over to Castiglion Fiorentino in the province of Arezzo. This walled city is known for its annual festivals and Etruscan archaeological site.
Day 4. Tuscany
Today you might want to journey over to Pisa, home to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Day 5. Tuscany
After so much adventure in Tuscany, today you might want to relax in your spacious apartment for the morning. Explore the medieval village of Alghiero, or take the 15-minute drive over to the city of Reggello for a little souvenir shopping.
Day 6. Tuscany
Enjoy the day at your leisure under the Tuscan sun! Perhaps you'd like to take the short drive to San Giovanni Valdarno. This charming town is known as the birthplace of the early Renaissance painter Masaccio. Visit the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Church of San Lorenzo.
Why not wind down with a picnic, sampling the local specialties with the stunning Tuscan landscape as your backdrop.
Day 7. Depart Italy
You'll depart Italy today from Florence. Ciao!
