Day 1. Welcome to Florence!
Upon arrival in Florence you will take the drive to your home base for the next six nights. You’ll be surrounded by lovely Tuscan countryside, in a perfect location for sightseeing. Your rental car gives you the flexibility to take day trips to the destinations you've always dreamed of.
Check-in - Villa Casagrande
Villa Casagrande is a 4-star hotel located in the heart of historic Figline Valdarno. The hotel features a spa where guests can book services like a massage, or unwind in the sauna. There are two on-site restaurants that serve traditional Tuscan cuisine, along with delicious cocktails and wine. Additionally, there is a small fitness area and an outdoor pool.
Guest rooms are bright and spacious, featuring a private bathroom, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, a TV, minibar, hairdryer, desk, and an in-room safe.
The front desk and friendly staff are available to assist with guests' needs around the clock.
Figline Valdarno train station is a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and The Mall Firenze is 16-minutes away via car.
Day 2. Tuscany
Start your Tuscan adventure off by paying a visit to explore the city of Florence, capital of the Tuscany region. Stroll down the cobblestoned lanes, through the majestic squares, and across the ancient bridges that are sprinkled throughout the city.
Along the way, take a stop at the Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Giotto’s bell tower, and the Accademia. Florence offers the largest number of historical buildings and works of art in Italy, as well as several world-class museums.
Day 3. Tuscany
Enjoy the first part of your day exploring the historical city of Lucca. Enclosed within imposing Renaissance Walls, this historical city is the perfect picturesque day trip.
In the early evening, make your way to Villa Casagrande for your included wine tour and tasting.Â
Day 4. Tuscany
You'll have the morning at your leisure. Take a drive through the country or to Arezzo, one of the wealthiest cities in Tuscany. This charming city is stunning yet compact, being ideal for a short half-day of exploring.Â
Upon returning to the Villa Casagrande, enjoy a fun, hands-on lesson in pizza making!Â
Villa Casagrande Pizza Making Class
Bring a piece of Italy home with you when you learn to make the country's most famous and iconic dish! You'll get an introduction to the story of pizza and its evolution, and a demonstration of the preparation of the dough followed by the creation of your own pizza. At the end of your class, you'll be able to taste your own pizza!
Day 5. Tuscany
Take the drive to Pisa today, where you can see its famous leaning tower up close. Spend some time at the famous Knights' Square where you can discover remnants of its Renaissance past, and explore the Gothic buildings that are sprinkled through the city.
Day 6. Tuscany
Today consider taking a drive to Siena, one of the most beautiful medieval towns of Italy. Take a stroll to the magnificent Piazza del Campo, then pay a visit to one of the most breathtaking examples of Romanseque-Gothic churches: the Duomo in Siena. This stunning building will have you in awe from the intricate exterior to the colorful interior.
Day 7. Depart Italy
Depart Italy from Florence airport (FLR). Be sure to return your rental car to the rental area before proceeding to check-in.Â
