Day 1. Welcome to Rome!
Arrive in Rome (FCO) and pick up your rental car at the airport's rental area. Head to your first accommodation, and settle into your gorgeous surroundings.
Take a step back into Medieval Italian history for a unique experience like no other at the Abbazia Collemedio Resort & Spa. Set in the small town of Collazzone, Collepepe (Perugia) and tucked amidst rolling Umbrian hills in the green heart of Italy, this unique resort was once a Benedictine Abbey.
Restored from its historical use and converted into a modern hotel, the Abbazia Collemedio Resort & Spa offers a traditional Italian setting straight out of a travel guide. Now updated with modern convenience, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a gym are available for use at your leisure.
Please note: The hotel is located approximately 25 minutes by car from Umbria International Airport (PEG), approximately one hour 50 minutes by car from Ciampino Airport (CIA), and approximately two hours by car from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO).
Relais Il Canalicchio is a resort nestled in the countryside of Umbria. Sitting on top of a hill, the property has stunning views of the vineyards and olive groves. Upon entering the hotel guests can feel the sense of medieval history as the building was once a small village with a church and tower. There is a small fitness center guests may enjoy for an additional fee, and a seasonal swimming pool. Air conditioning is also seasonal and usually only turned on June through September. The Il Pavone Restaurant is open daily and has been designed with large panoramic windows to maximize the gorgeous views of the valley.
Day 2. Umbria
Spend your first full day immersed in food, art, and culture with a trip to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance. Take a stroll down the same pedestrian streets walked by Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Botticelli while savoring the world's best gelato.
Discover the masterpieces hidden on every sidewalk and street corner; say hello to Michelangelo's David then explore the Gothic Duomo, an architectural feat which took almost 150 years to build.
Day 3. Umbria
Today, head to Perugia, the cozy and charming capital of the Umbria region. Explore the historical center with its magnificent churches, buildings, aqueducts, and eateries. Take a stroll along the cobblestone street and explore the many eateries and nightlife options available.
Day 4. Umbria
Visit Assisi, and its famous Basilica di San Francisco. Explore the well-preserved Temple of Minerva and pay a visit to the excavated Roman Forum. You’ll find a blend of romance and magic in Assisi’s honey-colored stone, quiet alleyways, and the mists that rise and fall over the Val di Spoleto below the town.

Arnaldo Caprai Winery Tour & Tasting
Enjoy a wine tasting at the Arnaldo Caprai Winery, an acknowledged leader in the production of top quality Sagrantino di Montefalco. This wine is produced exclusively from grapes of Sagrantino, a variety that has been growing in the Montefalco region for more than 400 years. The vineyard lies amid the Apennines and the towns of Trevi, Assisi, Spello and Montefalco, all famous for olive oil and wine production.
Enjoy a tour of the vineyards and the wine cellar, followed by a tasting of three wines, olive oil, and other accompaniments.
Day 5. Umbria
Enjoy an energizing breakfast, then take a 1-hour drive to the clifftop town of Orvieto. Inhabited since Etruscan times, this town is filled with historic monuments, museums, and churches. Feast your eyes on the stunning Duomo and admire the artistic mosaic facade that adorns this medieval wonder.
After you've gotten lost in the beauty of Orvieto, visit one of its surrounding vineyards!
Day 6. Umbria - Rome
Head to your next hotel today, located in Italy's breathtaking capital city of Rome.
