Italy

Jamaica

  • Local policies: Effective March 4, 2021, U.S. Citizens must request and obtain a travel authorization within 72 hours of their planned travel date. The Travel Authorization along with a copy of a negative PCR or Antigen test result must be presented to the airline representative to board a flight to Jamaica. Japan

  • Local policies: Travel for tourism and most other short-term purposes is still not permitted, and there is no indication that this will change in the short term. Visa-free travel is suspended. Travelers who believe they qualify for an exception to Japan’s strict entry controls should contact their nearest Japanese Embassy or consulate for information.

Jordan

Malta

  • Vaccine requirement: YES, As of 01 August 2021 CDC vaccination cards must be verified through the VeriFLY app to be accepted as a valid vaccination certificate.
  • Testing requirement: If upon arrival in Malta, any passenger is not in possession of a valid vaccination certificate, the passenger will be subject to a mandatory nasopharyngeal RT-PCR test and mandatory quarantine of 14 days in a hotel of the government’s choosing against a fee.

Nepal

Testing required. Quarantine requirements in place, regardless of vaccination status.

* Testing requirement: YES, Foreigners without complete vaccination against COVID-19 arriving by air must obtain a recommendation letter from their travel/trekking/tour agent in Nepal and a visa from the Nepali diplomatic missions abroad. On-arrival visas at land border entries are not available to unvaccinated travelers. All unvaccinated and semi-vaccinated travelers must comply with the Government of Nepal’s 10-day quarantine mandate, which requires quarantine at a local hotel at their own cost. A PCR test must be completed and returned negative on 11th day before travelling within the country will be permitted. Such travelers must present the following documents:

Poland

* Testing requirement: YES, You must have a negative molecular test with a result date no more than 72 hours before boarding at your point of origin.
* Quarantine: YES, All travelers who are permitted to enter Poland must undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine at their place of stay in Poland, except for people who qualify for one of the following exemptions:
* For arrivals from the Schengen Area: travelers who have a negative COVID test result from a test performed in a Schengen Area country within 48 hours prior to arrival
* For arrivals from outside the Schengen Area: 10-day quarantine can be shortened for travelers who are able to obtain a negative COVID test result no earlier than 7 days after arrival to Poland. Portugal

  • Testing requirement: YES, travel from the United States to Portugal is currently permitted for travelers with proof of a negative COVID-19 test
  • Quarantine: Attempts to exit customs or board a flight with a positive COVID test will result in a ten-day quarantine at the traveler’s expense. U.S. citizens using the same day testing option at the airport and receiving a positive COVID test result will be detained, sometimes for hours, until transportation and quarantine accommodation can be arranged at the traveler’s expense.

R

Russia

  • Current Status: OPEN
  • Vaccine requirement: NO
  • Testing requirement: YES, The Russian government requires that all foreign travelers present a negative PCR COVID-19 test result upon arrival, dated no later than three days prior to arrival in Russia. The results can be in English and/or digital. Foreign travelers must also​ complete and bring this form in a printed format.
  • Quarantine: Anyone testing positive for COVID in Russia is required to quarantine at their place of residence. We strongly recommend that all U.S. citizens in Russia comply with all requested measures. The Russian Federation no longer requires all travelers to quarantine for 14 days directly after arrival in Russia. Local jurisdictions set their own rules regarding quarantine requirements for travelers arriving in the country.
