1. Climb Mount Srd

Hike Up to Earn Stunning Views of the City

Okay, so there is a cable car that allows you to easily glide up Mount Srd, but where's the fun in that!? Strap on good hiking shoes, pack a bottle of water, and take a worthwhile climb up Mount Srd. You'll be rewarded with stunning views, and a little exercise is a great excuse for more fritule for dessert!

2. Soak up some sun on Banje Beach

We don't love this beach just because it's the closest beach to Dubrovnik's Old Town; it also happens to be absolutely breathtaking! With white sands and the bright blue Mediterranean at your feet and ancient Dubrovnik in the distance, postcard-worthy doesn't do Banje justice.

3. Stroll through the old town

And Soak Up the Culture in Dubrovnik's Shopping District

This completely pedestrian-friendly street is lined with cute cafes, unique shops, and delicious restaurants. Feel your head bobbing around looking at everything and spend the afternoon window-shopping on the local main drag.

4. Sample and spectate at Gundulic Square

Take in the Sights and Sounds of Croatia

Immerse yourself in day-to-day Croatian culture! Locally called "Gunduliceva Poljana," this bustling square turns into a colorful market of local fruits, veggies, and handmade souvenirs. Whether you purchase anything or not, there's no doubt you'll feel like a local.

Tip: Be sure to get there early - vendors close up around 1 pm!

5. People-watch at Luza Square

Go Sightseeing in the Heart of Old Town Dubrovnik

There's nowhere better to relax with some ice cream than Luza Square. Surrounded by architectural gems like Rector's Palace and the Orlando Column, you'll breathe in history and culture just sitting there. Luza is considered the hub of Dubrovnik's old town, so it's the perfect place to reconvene during a day of sightseeing.

6. Picnic in Gradac Park

The Perfect Way to End a Day of Exploring

Stare at stunning views of Fort Lovrijenac and the bright blue sea from this little green park. Gradac makes the perfect sunset-watching spot, so grab a bottle of wine and set up shop during the late afternoon.

7. Go Game of Thrones Sightseeing

Perfect for Fantasy Nerds!

If you're a GoT fan, you've already noticed that Dubrovnik looks... familiar. Probably because Dubrovnik was used as the main set for King's Landing! Head to the set of the Red Keep (Fort Lovrijenac), Cersei's infamous "walk of shame" (Jesuit's Staircase), Blackwater Bay (Pile), and the House of the Undying (Minceta Tower). Let's be honest - you'll feel like you're in GoT wherever you walk in Dubrovnik.

8. Drink water from Large Onofrio's Fountain

One of Dubrovnik's Most Famous Monuments

This beautiful - and gigantic - fountain is much more than just a pretty face. Bring a reusable water bottle and fill it up with ice-cold drinkable water. If you want to keep with old times, cup your hands and slurp away!

9. Go church-gazing

There's So Much Breathtaking Architecture to See

Dubrovnik is dotted with churches - and they're all beautiful. Whether you are religious or a lover of art, Dubrovnik's churches are a feast for the eyes and soul. Check out the Church of St. Blaise, Saint Ignatius Church, St. Saviour Church, and many others.

10. Walk the city walls

Walk Around Dubrovnik... Literally!

These defensive walls were completed in the 16th century and run about 1.2 miles long! Take a historical walk around them (usually two hours) and experience the beauty of Dubrovnik from a truly unique perspective. During this walk, you'll climb the highest point of Dubrovnik's Old Town, the Minceta Fortress, and enjoy once-in-a-lifetime views. And don't worry, if you get tired of walking, there are exits along the way.

There are tons of fun things to do in Dubrovnik, even for free!

There are lots of ways to spend a day in Dubrovnik without spending all of your Euros. And when you book through Great Value Vacations, airfare, hotels, and more are included in your package, making it easier for you to simply enjoy your trip.
