Day 1. Welcome to Rome!
Get ready for a whirlwind of romance as you touch down in Rome! Collect your rental car, then follow the route to your first accommodation on the Amalfi Coast.Â
After check-in, treat yourselves to a well-earned Aperol Spritz and a mouth-watering dinner to begin your getaway. Much of the produce here is grown locally, and this area specializes in extremely fresh fish and seafood. Don't miss a change to try some spaghetti alle vongole, risotto alla pescatora, or zuppa di cozze - they're local favorites!
Check-in - Lloyd's Baia Hotel

Day 2. Vietri sul Mare
It's time to get down to the serious business of relaxing and reconnecting. Start off with a trip to the seashore. Relax in the rays of the morning sun and maybe even treat yourself to an early lunch nearby. Don't forget - riposo, also known as siesta, is a sacred practice on the Amalfi Coast. Many places will close down between 3 pm and 7 pm, so plan your daytime activities carefully to avoid disappointment!
If you'd like to explore the coast on foot, take on one of the best trekking paths in Southern Europe together! Sentiero degli Dei, or "the path of the gods," is a natural pathway connecting the medieval villages of the Amalfi Coast. Take in views of Li Falli Island and stop to rest awhile at the Old Fountain of Monte Pertuso.
This area is steeped in legends and mythology, so consider treating yourselves to a guided tour. They usually begin in the morning and last until the late afternoon, so be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes!
Day 3. Vietri sul Mare
Spend some time walking the main street and perusing the treasures tucked away in the shops that line the street. Vietri is considered the capital of artistic and traditional ceramics, boasting a long and skilled history of producing precious porcelain. This is a great time to pick up a few ceramic souvenirs painted in its famous blues and yellows. You may be interested in a visit to the Provincial Museum of Ceramics before continuing your stroll through town to see the art and ceramics the city is known for.Â
Tonight, consider dining in the charming fishing village of Cetara or nearby Salerno, followed by a meandering walk along the seashore.Â
Day 4. Vietri sul Mare
On your last full day in this idyllic city, you may consider taking to the water by joining a boat tour! There's no better way to soak up the sights of the coastline than from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Spend a leisurely afternoon seeking out hole-in-the-wall bars, boutique shops, or simply stretching out in the sun for a while.
While you're in the area, pass by the church of San Giovanni Battista, whose dome was made of colored majolica and is nestled in a breathtaking setting.Â
Day 5. Vietri sul Mare - Rome
Continue your Italian escape in the ancient city of Rome. Check into your hotel, then set out to explore.

Day 6. Rome

Late this afternoon could be the perfect time to discover Savello Garden, known simply as "the Orange Garden of Rome." The park sprawls over more than 26,000 square feet and offers one of the best panoramic views of the city. Breathe in the orange trees' sweet fragrance, then explore the remains of the medieval fortress nearby.
A Tip For Your Trip: Before you leave the Orange Garden, take a right to find one of Rome's best-kept secrets: the Aventine Keyhole. Approach the nondescript door at the end of the culdesac and peek through the keyhole for a view of St. Peter's Basilica, perfectly framed by the manicured hedges just beyond the door.
Day 7. Rome
A visit to the Villa Borghese may lend an atmosphere to romance to your day. The villa's gardens are home to beautiful sculptures, hidden fountains, and huge trees. Make your way to the Temple of Aesculapius rent a boat and row across its picturesque lake.
At dusk, walk the Lungotevere. This boulevard runs between the banks of the Tiber and the massive walls (muraglioni) which were built to prevent flooding. Bring along a picnic basket packed witch champagne and chocolates to indulge in a sweet treat as the sun sinks below the horizon.
Day 8. Depart Italy
Your time in Italy comes to a close today. Say arrivederci to Rome as you make your way to the airport to return your rental car and board your flight back to home sweet home.Â
