Day 1. Welcome to Kilkenny!
Get ready to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and charming culture of Ireland! Pick up your manual economy car from the airport, and then you’re on your way! This self-drive vacation gives you the flexibility to drive and sightsee as you please. Spend your day in Kilkenny, where you can visit St. Canice’s Cathedral, Rothe House, Butler Gallery, or any other destination you decide to!

Kilkenny Castle
This 12th-century castle, remodeled in Victorian times and set in extensive parklands, was the principal seat of the Butler family, Marquesses and Dukes of Ormonde.
Due to major restoration works, the central block now includes a library, drawing room, and bedrooms decorated in 1830's splendor, as well as the beautiful Long Gallery. Pay a visit to the Butler Art Gallery, housed in a suite of former servants’ rooms; here you'll find frequently changing exhibitions of contemporary art.
Smithwick's Experience Kilkenny
Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny is a new multi-sensory and interactive experience that will take visitors on a journey through the medieval origins of brewing on the site of the St. Francis Abbey Brewery, to the arrival of John Smithwick in the 1700’s, and right up to the present day.
Visitors will be fully immersed in the history of Smithwick’s, Ireland’s oldest beer brand, the amazing heritage of the Smithwick’s family and its place in Kilkenny, a city steeped in history and brewing.
The tour includes a giant 7-foot-high hologram monk welcoming you to the brewery. When you start the tour it will be in a monastery-like cavern, just as it was when the monks came there all those centuries ago, and it will be lit by candlelight - making it even more atmospheric.
During the tour, the Smithwick’s brewing process will be brought to life with visitors having the opportunity to experience the smells, tastes, and textures of the raw materials involved in creating the perfect pint of ale.

Day 3. Limerick
Explore Limerick as you wish today! You can also venture to the Ring of Kerry, a stunning drive through some of Ireland's most stunning foliage. See waterfalls and greenery as far as the eye can see! In the evening, stroll the River Shannon and snap pictures of the incredible view!
Day 4. Limerick - Mayo
Today, you’ll drive from Limerick to Mayo. The journey takes about 2.5 hours through the west coast of this gorgeous green island. Consider stopping at the Cliffs of Moher today! These views are spectacular, and you’ll never forget the booming crash of the waves beneath you! In the evening, relax in your hotel or go for a drive. As you explore, try the local cuisine, like Irish soda bread, Botxy, or colcanon!

Glendalough Visitor Center
Glendalough is an early Christian ecclesiastical settlement was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Set in a glaciated valley with two lakes, the monastic remains include a superb round tower, stone churches and decorated crosses. The Visitor Centre has an interesting exhibition and an audio-visual show and is fully accessible for visitors with disabilities.Â
Day 7. Depart Ireland
Today you’ll depart Ireland. Wave goodbye to the hidden gem pubs and incredible attractions you saw along the way!
