Archaeological Tour (Pukara de Quitor & Tulor) (morning)
Visit one of the most important archaeological sites in Chile, Pukará de Quitor, a pre-Hispanic stone fortress dating back to the 17th century. Its great historical importance lies in the “Battle of Quitor,” where one of the first clashes between the Spanish conquistadors and the indigenous people took place.
You'll then learn about the “Culture of San Pedro” in the village of Tulor. Despite its age, the village has been well-preserved thanks to the dry conditions of the region. This ancient construction is probably the first settlement of the Atacama Salt Flat. Finally, visit the Church of San Pedro de Atacama, an adobe church from Spanish colonial times and the second oldest church in Chile!
Atacama Salt Flat Excursion (afternoon)
Begin the tour in Toconao village, towards the Jerez Canyon (Quebrada de Jerez) where you will be able to see the flora and fauna of this beautiful valley, located at an altitude of (8,153 ft. Once in Toconao, stop at San Lucas Church made of mud and straw with a separate bell tower. Visit the local handicraft fair known for its Alpaca wool and creative crafts made of cactus or volcanic stone.
Your tour continues to the fabulous Atacama Salt Flat (Salar de Atacama), the largest in Chile and the third largest in the world. Continue along a small path to the Chaxa Lagoon and be delighted by the different species of pink flamingos. The lagoon is a protected flamingo breeding reservoir and declared Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos (National Reserve). End the tour looking towards the Andes as you enjoy a colorful sunset!

Moon Valley and Death Valley Tour
Feel like you've entered another planet at the Valley of the Moon (El Valle de la Luna), declared a Nature Sanctuary in 1982 and part of the National Flamingo Reservation. Formed by a depression surrounded by small hills with stunning sharp ridges, the valley's “out of this world” landscapes are truly a sight to behold. This valley is famous for its natural mineral sculptures, one of them being Las Tres Marias (The three Mary’s) formed by the wind erosion and resembling a lunar setting.
Next, visit Death Valley (El Valle de la Muerte) and its sand dunes, which are very popular for sandboarding. Explore its Mars-like landscape (another name for this valley is Mars Valley) and admire Its salt formations that are like works of art. Full Day Excursion through the Moais Route and Anakena Beach
Follow the winding path along Rapa Nui as you make your way through thousands of moais, the giant heads that Easter Island is known for. You can also see one of the best preserved villages on the island, and all of this is on the slopes of the mighty Rano Raraku Volcano Crater. Enjoy picking out the petroglyphs etched into the back of some of the moais, and learn about the ancient people who put all of these otherworldly statues there.
Follow the path along time and legend carved into stone until you make your way to Anakena Beach, where you will see the unique coastal moais facing the water, and long white sand beaches.
Day 9. Easter Island
Today you'll head to Rapa Nui National Park, where you'll see the spectacular Rano Kau craters, as well as discover the secrets of Orongo ceremonial village! Then, you'll see the amazing statues of Ahu Akivi.
Visit to the Rano Kao Volcano & the Orongo Ceremonial Center
Your day starts off with a departure from your hotel towards the Ana Kai Tangata cave. The walls of this cave tell a story; in one of its walls birds are drawn in a stylized painting representing Manutara (sea swallows), whose precious egg was the center of the annual birdman competition.
Later visit the Vinapu sector, an archaeological site which has large basalt slabs carefully made similarly to the Cuzco Inca constructions. Continue to Rano Kau, a place where you will find a lake with small islands of reeds, lush vegetation, and micro fauna. Pay a visit to the Orongo ceremonial village, where the ceremony of the Bird Man competition was performed. The Bird Man was appointed by the king and would be the spiritual and political leader during a period of one year. The sacred character is represented as a human shrunken body with a large beak and is sculpted in many engraved stones.
Ahu Akivi Tour
Unlike the massive Moais statues dotting the island, the Ahu Akivi statues are the only ones to face the ocean, and some also have the addition of stone topknots placed upon their heads.
Learn about the history and theories of these unqiue and interesting sculptures as you make your way toward Puna Pau, a small but important scoria crater where the stone topknots were made.
Continue on to Ahu Uri Aurenga, a single statue placed preciously along the orientation line of the winter solstice. Discover more about the ancient people and their culture as you move about the island.
