Package Overview

This is an escorted tour. It’s perfect if you prefer not to do your own driving and want to see as many sights as you can during your vacation. 

You will start and finish your journey in Frankfurt, Germany. In the middle, you'll spend two overnights each in Berlin, Warsaw, Kraków, Budapest, and Prague. 

Spend free time in Frankfurt, where you'll meet up with your fellow travelers and travel director. Visit Weimar and a few smaller towns en route to Berlin. Take a guided city tour and spend time discovering this magnificent city on your own! Then, you'll travel to Warsaw, Poland. Take another included sightseeing tour and enjoy time on your own.

From Warsaw, you'll travel to Krakow, with a stop first at Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Spend the next morning sightseeing in Krakow before continuing onto Budapest, Hungary! Travel then to Bratislava, Slovakia on the way to Vienna, Austria. Take yet another included city tour, and then spend time at leisure.

From Vienna, you'll cross into the Czech Republic to Prague! Enjoy sightseeing and time at leisure to see the city on your own. From Prague, stop in Nuremberg before arriving back in Frankfurt, Germany for your final night. Catch your flight home from Frankfurt after a whirlwind 14 nights!

Day 1. Welcome to Frankfurt!

Upon arrival you will be transferred to check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Tonight, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers.

It was at one time rightly known as the "Athens of Germany." Journey past Jena, home to the world-famous Zeiss Optics Factory. Over the River Elbe for a few more miles into Germany's capital city, Berlin.

Day 6. Warsaw - Jasna Góra - Auschwitz - Kraków

Two encounters with history on your southbound journey today. First, Jasna Gora near Czestochowa, the monastery that withstood the repeated onslaught of overwhelming Swedish forces during the religious wars of the 17th century. Since then, its Black Madonna is venerated as the Queen of Poland and has become the country's national symbol. In the afternoon, visit what is left of the Auschwitz concentration camp, a chilling reminder of the Holocaust. Evening arrival in Kraków.

Day 8. Kraków - Budapest, Hungary

Travel through three countries today. First, south to the Tatra Mountains of Poland, then through scenic Slovakia, and finally into Hungary. Your destination is Budapest, the most lively of Eastern European capitals.

Journey northwest and cross the border into neighboring Slovakia. Stop in Bratislava, its intriguing capital on the banks of the Danube to explore the medieval Old Town. Continue west and enter Austria, arriving in magical Vienna.

Your tour also includes a visit to St. Stephen's Cathedral, an majestic work of Romanesque and Gothic construction. With its multi-colored roof tiles and spire reaching almost 450 feet, it dominates the cityscape and has become a symbol of Vienna.

Day 12. Vienna - Prague - Czech Republic

Morning at leisure or join an optional excursion. This afternoon, cross the Czech border into Moravia, then through the rich farmlands of Bohemia to Prague.
