Golden Circle Classic (Full Day)
Embark on a tour of Iceland's most popular scenic driving route! Located along the largest lake in Iceland, Thingvellir National Park is a remarkable and historic geological site, which boasts a UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. The beautiful canyon that runs through the park is actually the meeting point of two of the earth’s tectonic plates – and in addition, this area is where the oldest form of Parliament met, dating back to the year 930!
At the Gullfoss Waterfall you’ll see thousands of tons of icy water thundering down majestically in double falls, into a deep canyon. And at the Geysir Geothermal area, you’ll find an abundance of bubbling hot springs and geysers – as well as Strokkur, the most active geyser in the area, known for spouting 80 to 100 feet in the air!
Fontana Geothermal Steam Baths
Soak in hot springs and steam baths at Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths. Hot, rejuvenating steam rises directly from the ground through grids in the cabin floors of this wellness center, where nature meets tradition. There are three hot springs within walking distance located at the shore of Laugarvatn, varying in heat and usage.
Relax in the thermal baths all year round as you experience the ever changing Icelandic weather. From late evening light during the summer to dazzling Northern Lights in winter, soak in the warmth under the open sky!
Day 3. Reykjavik
Today you will be in for a treat - an unforgettable whale watching experience, departing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik.
Whale Watching from Reykjavik
This approximately three-hour tour will be led by experienced guides who will share their wealth of knowledge (and some old sea stories!) as you observe whales and other interesting sea life.
The whales here are not shy, either, and will often surface very close to your boat. They are so sure that you’ll observe whales during the tour, that if you don’t, you can take the tour again on another day, for free! You’ll travel in comfort, too, as the boat offers a café lounge with Wi-Fi, hot drinks and refreshments, as well as use of warm overalls, if needed.
Day 4. Reykjavik
Enjoy the day at your leisure in Iceland! Climb to the top of the famous church which dominates the Reykjavik for sweeping views of the city below. By now you’ve noticed that in the city's museums, galleries, theaters, cafés and swimming pools, busy locals bustle about with a seemingly inexhaustible energy. Spend part of the day experiencing this scene as you continue to get to know the city.
Shoppers will find the largest concentration of brand-name stores, unique shops and quality art studios in the downtown area – whether you’re searching for souvenirs or unique gifts from one of the many talented local designers. The famous shopping streets of Laugarvegur and Skólavördustígur are home to beautiful boutiques and charming shops, while Kringlan provides more of a mall experience, with over 150 stores and restaurants under one roof.
A Tip For Your Trip: At some point today, please ask the hotel staff for assistance with confirming your Flybus Plus transfer to the airport tomorrow.
Day 5. Depart Iceland
If your flight is in the afternoon, use your last moments to walk along the harbor seafront and breathe the fresh Atlantic breeze. Based on your pre-arranged time, you will be met by Flybus at your hotel, and transferred to the airport for your flight home.
